Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

it's far too brave a call to bet on any party having an outright majority .... actually, it would be interesting to learn what odds are available on that

Ladbrokes said that 70% of the bets taken over the last two weeks were on the Conservatives to win an outright majority.

Any coincidence that Fred and Millipede are both in France, maybe a meeting with Francois Hollande to discuss the French unemployment situation?

The increasing French unemployment situation. Add to that the increasing deficit.
This what you get when you vote for the left.
"The number of jobless people in mainland France reached a new record in June, labour ministry data showed on Wednesday. The new figures come as another blow to President François Hollande's vow to bring down unemployment by the end of 2013."
"PARIS: The French trade deficit, a critical problem for the recession-hit economy, worsened sharply in May, official data showed yesterday.
Although the data for a single month can vary considerably, the overall picture is grim for efforts by the left-wing government to boost industrial competitivity, growth and tax revenues.
The trade balance showed a deficit of 6.01 billion euros ($ 7.7 billion), rising above 6.0 billion euros for the first time since June 2012.
This outcome was 1.5 billion euros worse than the deficit of 4.5 billion euros in April."

''Sacre Bleu'' surely not, Monsieur Hollande promised to bring unemployment down. Maybe Fred and Millipede can help.

It is interesting that Hollande has been doing pretty much what Miliband and co want to do.

We may think our politicians are bad
Make one gaffe in a two-minute interview and you could forgiven, but make at least three and people are going to start raising some eyebrows.
In a short TV interview with Australia's Channel 7 News, Brisbane parliamentary candidate Stephanie Banister said Islam was a country, said Jewish people follow Jesus and praised a government programme that does not start for another three years.
"I don't oppose Islam as a country but I do feel their laws should not be welcome here in Australia," she said.
Islam is not a country.
Banister wants halal food to be banned. But does not have a problem with kosher food being sold.
"Jews aren't under haram, they have their own religion which follows Jesus Christ," she said.
Judaism does not follow Jesus Christ.
In the interview Banister is also asked what she thinks of the Australian government's National Disability Scheme, the NDIS.
"I believe that the disability scheme is working at the moment," she said.
The NDIS does not start until 2016.

ah but the question is how much inflation
i whizzed through that article and the author doesn't even hazard a guess, and in any case admits he is looking forward about 3 years
these gurus can't even predict accurately what will be the scenario in even 6 months time, though admittedly for all sorts of good reasons
Septic Peg would be just as accurate

Not much of a theory as we always have inflation at some level.
Interesting put down for goldfinger as he has been predicting rising interest rates at any minute and definitely this year. He has to be the worst at predicting anything on this site.

Yes, but gf might have been betting against politicians motives.
Always tricky, and very hard to call, given they work the enemy.

It is not the politicians that alter interest rates. They have no say in the matter.

I think you have called that spot on Tanker other than vote UKIP??.
I cant remember a PM like Cameron and a chancelor like Osbourne who have lied through their teeth and manipulated figures like these two have in history.
OK you used to get the odd white lie in the past but these two are way out in front of the rest and the cabinet seem to be following them aswel.
The British electorate are starting to catch on though.
Remember fat boy call me Dave in a PARTY POLITICAL BROADCAST telling the nation that they had got DEBT down. What a misleading liar he is.
Ive voted for both Conservative and Labour in the past but I have withdrawn my clubs annual donation to the Conservatives this year and future years. The members wanted it that way in fact voted with a majority to withdraw it.
Until we get a cabinet of ordinary people and not rich posh ex Eton boys we wont be funding them again.
At the moment Im personaly looking to vote labour but if UKIP push the right wing a tad further I may be persuaded to vote for them.

Tanker, I see BILL of the Bill and Ben duo has posted.
Why dont you just filter them like I have. Both of them are derd ignorant posh boys who have had everything handed down to them on a plate.
Wonder if they still be backing public schools and the Tories if they had had to earn a crust from the start without being spoon fed.

ever one I speak to says this we want out of the EU we want out human rights which is only for criminals we want out of the EU if it means losing jobs that are only for immigrants then take the jobs out of the UK and if we become poorer by being out of the EU .
that is fine
the EU is corrupt and stinks of corruption
stop all benefits to all migrants now and round up all illegals and put them on a planes and if they say they have no pass ports DNA them then send them back or sell them to a poor country . enough is enough we want action
