THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

''Sacre Bleu'' surely not, Monsieur Hollande promised to bring unemployment down. Maybe Fred and Millipede can help.

It is interesting that Hollande has been doing pretty much what Miliband and co want to do.

We may think our politicians are bad

Make one gaffe in a two-minute interview and you could forgiven, but make at least three and people are going to start raising some eyebrows.

In a short TV interview with Australia's Channel 7 News, Brisbane parliamentary candidate Stephanie Banister said Islam was a country, said Jewish people follow Jesus and praised a government programme that does not start for another three years.

"I don't oppose Islam as a country but I do feel their laws should not be welcome here in Australia," she said.

Islam is not a country.

Banister wants halal food to be banned. But does not have a problem with kosher food being sold.

"Jews aren't under haram, they have their own religion which follows Jesus Christ," she said.

Judaism does not follow Jesus Christ.

In the interview Banister is also asked what she thinks of the Australian government's National Disability Scheme, the NDIS.

"I believe that the disability scheme is working at the moment," she said.

The NDIS does not start until 2016.

Ive been calling this one right all along despite Bill and Ben slating me. Must be 9 months now since I came up with the same theory.........and this is a TORY rag.....

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/finance/jeremywarner/100025302/inflation-will-be-back-before-carneys-7-per-cent-unemployment-target-is-met/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

cynic - 08 Aug 2013 16:55 - 27831 of 81564

ah but the question is how much inflation
i whizzed through that article and the author doesn't even hazard a guess, and in any case admits he is looking forward about 3 years
these gurus can't even predict accurately what will be the scenario in even 6 months time, though admittedly for all sorts of good reasons

Septic Peg would be just as accurate

Haystack - 08 Aug 2013 17:03 - 27832 of 81564

Not much of a theory as we always have inflation at some level.

Interesting put down for goldfinger as he has been predicting rising interest rates at any minute and definitely this year. He has to be the worst at predicting anything on this site.

MaxK - 08 Aug 2013 21:54 - 27833 of 81564

Yes, but gf might have been betting against politicians motives.

Always tricky, and very hard to call, given they work the enemy.

Haystack - 08 Aug 2013 22:12 - 27834 of 81564

It is not the politicians that alter interest rates. They have no say in the matter.

Stan - 09 Aug 2013 06:54 - 27835 of 81564

Senior Conservative figures fear the party’s membership has fallen to 100,000 for the first time in modern politics – a fraction of its three million heyday.

TANKER - 09 Aug 2013 08:28 - 27836 of 81564

stan myself my wife and all my friends have stopped our membership
we are going to join UKIP in march .

my once proud party is now a party of LIARS

goldfinger - 09 Aug 2013 09:32 - 27837 of 81564

I think you have called that spot on Tanker other than vote UKIP??.

I cant remember a PM like Cameron and a chancelor like Osbourne who have lied through their teeth and manipulated figures like these two have in history.

OK you used to get the odd white lie in the past but these two are way out in front of the rest and the cabinet seem to be following them aswel.

The British electorate are starting to catch on though.

Remember fat boy call me Dave in a PARTY POLITICAL BROADCAST telling the nation that they had got DEBT down. What a misleading liar he is.

Ive voted for both Conservative and Labour in the past but I have withdrawn my clubs annual donation to the Conservatives this year and future years. The members wanted it that way in fact voted with a majority to withdraw it.

Until we get a cabinet of ordinary people and not rich posh ex Eton boys we wont be funding them again.

At the moment Im personaly looking to vote labour but if UKIP push the right wing a tad further I may be persuaded to vote for them.

Haystack - 09 Aug 2013 09:39 - 27838 of 81564

You surely can't have forgotten the two biggest liars: Blair and Brown.

Haystack - 09 Aug 2013 09:41 - 27839 of 81564

Update: Labour lead at 4

Latest YouGov / The Sun results 8th August - Con 34%, Lab 38%, LD 9%, UKIP 12%;

goldfinger - 09 Aug 2013 09:50 - 27840 of 81564

Tanker, I see BILL of the Bill and Ben duo has posted.

Why dont you just filter them like I have. Both of them are derd ignorant posh boys who have had everything handed down to them on a plate.

Wonder if they still be backing public schools and the Tories if they had had to earn a crust from the start without being spoon fed.

TANKER - 09 Aug 2013 09:51 - 27841 of 81564

ever one I speak to says this we want out of the EU we want out human rights which is only for criminals we want out of the EU if it means losing jobs that are only for immigrants then take the jobs out of the UK and if we become poorer by being out of the EU .
that is fine
the EU is corrupt and stinks of corruption
stop all benefits to all migrants now and round up all illegals and put them on a planes and if they say they have no pass ports DNA them then send them back or sell them to a poor country . enough is enough we want action

TANKER - 09 Aug 2013 09:57 - 27842 of 81564

the nhs is at breaking point because of migrants filling A@E just go down to any hospital and take a look full .

if you think this is lies then go down to your local hospital then say it is lies
but be honest

TANKER - 09 Aug 2013 09:59 - 27843 of 81564

gold you are wrong cynic is not rich just thinks he is . as for is echo

TANKER - 09 Aug 2013 10:05 - 27844 of 81564

restaurants are the most dirty places to eat food more people get ill from eating in these places their should be my visits from the council and close them down if not clean . and not given time to clean them and the second time closed for good
the one man bands are the worst run by families

TANKER - 09 Aug 2013 10:18 - 27845 of 81564

By Dr. Mercola

If you value your health, you would be wise to avoid fast food restaurants at all costs.

Not only does the fast food diet promote high cholesterol, hypertension, heart attacks, obesity and diabetes; such foods are also laden with added chemicals, and virtually all animal based food comes from factory farms.

The latter issue is highlighted in a recent announcement that McDonald's and Target will no longer purchase their eggs from Sparboe Farms.

The egg producer was recently 'outed' by an ABC News "20/20" investigation into potentially unhealthy conditions at their egg-laying facilities.

The company has been cited for at least 13 violations of rules meant to prevent dangerous salmonella outbreaks.

I've previously discussed the many sad realities inherent with confined animal feeding operations (CAFO's).

Lack of sanitation is a pervasive problem, and food borne illnesses such as salmonella are primarily restricted to such operations.

Ditto for animal abuse.
