Cybit the best telematics play (CYH)

Still Waiting - 21 Sep 2003 22:33

The chart for this stock says it all.

The company is quickly becoming a real gem in the telematics field, over the last month the co. has announced re-seller contracts which will bring in min. 2m or >30% of last years T/O alone.

The company is already experiencing massive organic growth so the co. should be profitable now following last years 500k loss.

The co. has approx. 6m cash and is in one of the hottest growth areas at the moment.

With a market cap. of 25m this will be re-rated x2/3 minimum within the next 6-12 months IMHO.

MM buys went through on Friday with T/O continuing to build, one to put on your monitor...

Here comes the ramblings of an old man - This tact seems to be working, as it is close to Valentines day lets try not to mention the 'true love' C****T. If we can make her/him jealous by talking about other 'loves' she might try to woo us back with a lot of blushing blue - up a nice 3.5 so far. So keep ignoring her. I see ZIM is up big style today.

Back on the boil BANKONE ! and BLUE have I missed some news ??????????

petermoran - 07 Feb 2005 17:33 - 2816 of 3104

Word is on another BB is that contracts have been won 2 similar size to Sainsbury and one bigger that that. Makes you wonder when suddenly the price moves and someone has been accumulating at 20000/25000 at a time.

Nitefly - 08 Feb 2005 10:59 - 2820 of 3104

I think everyone is just sitting and waiting for something to happen Douggie. We have all said what we can about CYH and for me it's a case of 'see what happens' now. Is anyone still sat on a profit with CYH? if they are then it's going to be thin. As we have often said, it's a good time to buy!

I still haven't sold one of these, even though I have been tempted to trade it a few times over the last 12 months (it would have been more profitable to have traded them, maybe!) but I have always believed they would 'Take off' only to be frustrated a week or so later and had to buy more.

What more can I say - I would have liked Eric to have got his mitts on the info he wanted. That would have made interesting reading.

Blue again today, which is good news but what troubles me is that the MM's always seem privy to the info before the investor, thus the price hike!

regards

NF

Douggie... Just remind us of how Chrissie has called this right?

Sorry, been busy elsewhere. It takes hours just reading the SEO posts. I've been spreading around funds from the margin on SEO CFDs - NLR, ASC, YOO, BGT, MLS. But they won't trade CYH! But I'm back noticing the price move and wondering what was afoot. Since I am in a position to back some funds out of the CFDs, I'll have a go with my projections. To recap my point: I beleive the share has been held back, not by fundamentals but, by misinformed perception of the effect of the new accounting system. Point 1: the share would be now generating decent profits if they hadn't taken full credit for sales in the first two years. Point 2: the movement back to profitability is quite predictable and certain and then the benefit of the new accounting system will be seen in good profit growth. So you could just sit back and let things take their course. But what use is that to impatient investors like me and probably you. So let's just help the communciation of the FD and the advisor, in particular, with the outside world.

The new five year contract with Mono Services is very welcome news and one would have to say that telematics is the way forward for such companies.

I dont dabble in CFD's, probably because I don't like the risks associated with them and moreover, because I don't fully understand them. I do like the idea of being able to hold a position 10x higher than normal methods but wouldn't want to take such a position. My take is that if I can't afford to buy them outright, then why gamble (...the wife wouldn't wear it anyway!). I'm surprised to note that you can't trade CYH this way though?

Have to go with your valuable comments, I don't really have a choice but to sit on this one. It's the same old story though, grass, greener, I could of made more etc!!! I am reasonably happy to be sat on CYH, it's just that I do like to trade rather than sit them out.

Since being in CYH I have closed my level 2 data account. It was great trading MT & CS last year, talk about 'filling ya boots', was in and out sometimes within the hour, wonderful stuff. Hopefully there will be new opportunities in MT in the near future. I'll need to research it all over again, which having not watched and listened for a while now, seems quite a mammoth task but should be worth the effort. Have you even looked at it?

Thanks for your comments, I do like to read your angle, not only on CYH but on various other shares also, you always seem to DYOR and on balance give fair reason.

Nice post Eric. I spoke to the Finance Director at both the AGM and EGM. He said that contract profits will be in in 2006, under the new accounting procedures and the effects will be cumulative. Like Nitefly, I'm in for the long haul, but I do believe there will be a slow but steady move up with the share price now.

ironnick

That was helpful comment from your meeting with FD. Confirms that CYH would be profitable now if they hadn't made the mess up with switching accounting polocies and the sp would be much higher.

nitefly

I don't see that much additional risk with CFDs as opposed to spreadbetting where you can lose your principle. Typically, with AIM shares you have a 4:1 multiple. The key thing is to choose a share with limited downside: my holdings in NLR (though I ahve a stop-loss there), SEO, YOO and FDI I put in that category. Apart from the gearing, another key factor is that you can reinvest the margin without closing the CFD, thus spreading the risk. Do contact me via e-mail if you want to fill in details.
