* M0NEY-AM G0LF DAY EVENT: 27 HOLES, INCL. SUSTENANCE & PRIZES (IN ADDITION TO M0NEY-AM SPONSORED PRIZES!) on: -
THURSDAY, 08 JUNE, 2006 *

So several months have passed... Based on the success of last Summer's Event at Longcliffe G.C., a few of you have asked me to take over the reigns from PTH and organise another G0LF M0NEY-AM DAY again based in the MIDLANDS. This is fairEST to the majority coming from all over the UK! From initial feedback (reflecting on 2005 36-Hole hot mid-Summer's day!), the popular view for a 2006 Event has been agreed, as follows: -

* Tea/Coffee on arrival.
* 9 Holes (4BBB 3/4 Stab.) Comp.
* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

(** ADDITIONAL PRIZES from our generous SPONSORS include: - 3 months worth of Shares Magazine sent to the homes of EACH COMPETITOR every week. The Overall Winner will get The Money-AM Annual Golf Challenge Cup to keep for good plus 1 year's worth of Money-AM Level 2 service worth 357.50 + Vat. The Runner-Up and Third Placed Winners will each get a medal to keep plus 6 months' level 2.)

Venue: - H0RSLEY L0DGE G.C., Belper, Derbyshire (Championship Meadowland Course with American-type Greens). Refreshments will be in the On-Site Kingfisher Restaurant. Entry Fee is: - 60 per Competitor which will cover all of the above ** plus enough to buy some additional golfing prizes.

Hey, Pete - it's taken 283 posts 4 u 2 mention The Shark's timekeeping! Fret ye not, as all will be well in hand on the Day.

Chox, Fundy must be on the longest protracted house move in history so not banking on his participation unless you know different, of course?

Rutherfood, welcome aboard, sir. Looking forward to receiving your cheque in due course. Presume u r OK 4 accommodation?

Everyone, please keep me updated re: exact handicaps, in the run up.

Updated...

Welcome home Peter. Thought you might have been allocated the Defence portfolio. See you've given yourself three weeks for serious practise. Keep away from the Shark, I suggest, as he only seeks to demoralise you - suggest we get him in a pincer movement; or what do they call that one high, one low tackle. Welcome to the new guys even though, like me, they are third division - promotion is nigh!

Eric

Markus: My name is Rutherford not Rutherfood although I have been called a lot worse in the past so no problem. Regarding accomodation I would imagine I will need two nights but not made my mind up yet. What are the options regarding hotels (if any) available if you dont mind.

EWRobson - 07 May 2006 22:46 - 289 of 505

Shame on you Markus. On your home ground and you put your odds below that of this veteran of bygone years!

ptholden - 07 May 2006 22:48 - 290 of 505

Hi Eric

I'll just kick him in the knackers!!

Not only is he always late, he can't spell :-)

markusantonius - 08 May 2006 01:15 - 291 of 505

RutherfoRd,

The Club have quality rooms onsite. EWRobson (and Brock123 - provo) already booked to stay there on Thursday evening with small discount! A deposit secures and I can prearrange this for you, if required (I think it's 70/night)? Otherwise there are plenty of cheaper B&B's < a few miles away. Again once your entry has been confirmed, I can put you in touch with best options...

Rutherford - 08 May 2006 01:37 - 292 of 505

Thanks MarKus for the info and name change. I will certainly need accomodation at least for the Thursday and possibly the Wednesday but will let you know when I am confirmed. My wife should have the cheque in the post tomorrow all going well. Thanks again for info.

markusantonius - 09 May 2006 01:21 - 301 of 505

I have been dwelling on your request to bring a friend along... and, if there are still places left with a day or two before my entry expiry date, then I am of the opinion that this is acceptable (presuming he doesn't want to register with M-AM?) on the following basis: -

He can partake in everything on the day itself apart from collecting M-AM's own 'Level 2'/Silver & Bronze Medals/Shares Magazine Prizes. But he IS eligible to win the Morning Team and Afternoon Singles G0LFING Prizes. I, personally, do not have a problem with this assuming there are no objections from anyone else here.....?
