Provexis Buy at 3.25p - Target 8p (PXS)

peeyam - 08 May 2007 11:30

LONDON (AFX) - Provexis PLC said it has entered into a long-term collaboration agreement with Unilever PLC to jointly develop a new concentrated format of its patented Fruitflow heart-health technology for application in Unilever's food product portfolio.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The partners plan to enter into a global licence arrangement for the technology.

Fruitflow is a patented natural extract from tomato which Provexis said has been shown in human trials to reduce the propensity for aberrant blood clotting that is typically associated with cardiovascular disease and which can lead to heart attack or stroke.

In 2005 the market for heart benefit foods was worth 4 bln usd globally, Provexis added.

Considering the growth potential this share has a target of about 8-10p in the medium tern and is a good buy at current levels

As usual, pls do ur own research.

I still can't see what all the fuss is about...I could have bought but it reminds me of Stanelco.....I mean there must be loads of pharmas like this with a great product about to be market...(it takes years)....what's so special about this one ? Coca cola to launch their drink with an additive for airlines: they would have to be supremely confident....otherwise...I'd like to get in but...

required field - 27 Aug 2009 17:52 - 288 of 1204

What's the market cap ? Money AM say 45 million, but that's been there for some time now....must be more...I fear a serious bubble burst if I get in ....feel a bit late, but then I thought that at 5p....

Another thing is earnings last year was 5000 pounds !! zippo....but I have rarely seen an increase in value like this.....to justify this rise there would have to be a major contract with a major company in the pipeline....

I know that I'm ranting on here but what about EK....aha..forotten about him have we...the dark knight is lurking...just the sort of thing he would pounce on...may the force not be with him...

rf--I'm still sitting in seo after many years--just keeping a few as I took most of my losses on the chin. pxs is the only co with the efsa medical approval---even the probiotic yogourts with a massive established market do not have this approval but the gen public buy it and like it. Try to imagine if the pxs product was in several foods like this and the big cos want to add it to their ranges--a major food co has a large stake here. coca cola had an exclusivity deal with pxs which was allowed to lapse--it doesn't mean they don't want the product but can't have exclusively--that's very good imo.read the thread on the a-f-n board the research is excellent if a tad excited today! I wish I'd believed them more and bought the millions some of them hold from under 1p. G/luck.

EK pounces on anything that rises fast and then his followers pile in. It pushes the sp down EK closes and back up we go so if the story is good I'm not worried=EK raises our profile and he's not always right!!

Required field.....you really need to do some research - easiest way is to go to iii board and lse.co.uk board for PXS and read through foodeagle, spirtfinder, haventgotaclue and childsplay posts for some seriously informed views - (some of mine too!).

Provexis is the only company of any type to have EFSA approval for a food health claim for their product fruitflow. in addition Final EC approved wording for packaging expected any day.

agreeemnts with coca cola and unilever active for last two years. commercial agreemnts expected to follow ec wording rns. functional food market valued in billions. PXS has potential for license royalties in this market.

expected rns re recent trial of fruitflow compared to aspirin - market for daily use of aspiring with some serious side effects is hugely huge - fruitflow could make significant inroads in this market without side effects -

ongoing human trials for plantain extract treatment for crohns disease - inflammatory disease - following succesful early stage trials - this is also a very big market with little in the way of competition.

Other reseaarch is leading to valuations of betwenn 20p and 30p for this share and increasing longer term.

agreed there is some herding and hype but beneath all that this is a share with real substance.

True..he's shorting VIY and GKP...(the latter for a quick buck possibly..I would have closed it already if I were him)...I'm still hesitating about this one..will have to sleep on it. By the way love your posts..most informative, thanks.

moneyplus - 27 Aug 2009 18:31 - 297 of 1204

Thanks GN--you are much more detailed in your posts than me--I have short term memory lapses. lol.

Global Nomad - 27 Aug 2009 19:28 - 298 of 1204

can anyone add a zero to the 8p on the thread list.

Troys - 27 Aug 2009 19:49 - 299 of 1204

"A human trial comparing the Fruitflow technology with aspirin, a recognised anti-thrombotic product, is underway in Aberdeen. Aspirin has known deficiencies, such as resistance to its effect in a significant proportion of users and side effects including gastric bleeding. We believe that favourable results in the trial will provide potential commercial opportunities, given an estimated 50 million people in the USA use low-dose aspirin daily. Results of the trial will be announced later in the year."

A great word "transformational"
