Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

BioProgress, the technology licensing vehicle that raised 6.6 million at 50p in December, gave up 2p at 137p on suggestions that Mondays full-year figures will be accompanied by both a contract win and a further fundraising
Independent
Meanwhile, market professionals talked of a fund raising at Bioprogress, 2.5p lower at 137.5p. According to dealing room gossip, the group is putting the finishing touches to a placing of new stock at 100p, which could be announced as early as next week.

Another feature yesterday was biopharmaceutical company Bioprogress, 2.5 lower at 137.5p. Market chatter said the group, which has a market capitalisation of 143m, will unveil plans for a fund-raising alongside its full-year results on Monday. It is thought house broker Collins Stewart will be involved in the placing of 10m worth of stock to fund an acquisition.

the placing was at 100p. as i was offered some and obviously said yes thanks. the important thing is the the size of the us deal, the results will be irrelevant. but if they are building a film factory in the us, the partner must be a big player in the us.

I got some shares in BPRG, how can I get them at the placing price of 100p? Or why haven't I been contacted by my broker?
I'm still new to this game.

taksum88,
I doubt if you can unless you have a decent broker.
If you have, ring him!
Sadly you will have to join the rest of us on the sidelines!
If another deal is announced, it will probably cushion the blow of a placing at such a discount, at least I hope it will!

What will everybody do if there is no significant news on Monday apart from a very upbeat statement ?

Bones, lol I will remove it if requested but I think this site is a little more mature in its views than the ADVFN site and it is not really an advert for them but is relevent to BPRG.
Cheers

Janus - as for the question about what BPRG might announce, I think too many people have got a fixation about "when" rather than "what". The OTC deal is coming and nothing I've seen or heard has said otherwise. It would of course be ideal to get it with the results on Monday but it isn't crucial. All that anxiety over the road just plays into the shorters' hands.
The OTC deal allows for the building of a US film plant already so this runoured placing must be for some other important development; maybe an acquisition.

You are an absolute idiot nematode - the worst kind of ramper, and you are going to get your ass burnt very soon. You know nothing about this share and you are just trying to make a quick buck like all the other nutters on the advfn bb. The MMs are going to take you to the cleaners on Monday. A mark up early on to suck more buyers in, and then look out, the wheels will come off.

Scottie - you don't seem to know much more about the company either. It is not about Monday, it is about the next 5 years. I don't care too much what happens Monday, though up would be nice, I don't have a margined trade and am up 200%+ anyway.
The other board contains some very knowledgeable people but they've been swamped by short termers, both long and short unfortunately.

Serious Bones , how many shares do you currently own that were bought more than five years ago ?

Tend to agree with Bones here, its not monday that counts but the price in the longer term say at the year end for starters.
We all know that every tom dick and harry is in this one at the moment and the MMs come monday will be out to exploit this. The last thing they will want on their books is a heavy holding of stock come 4.30pm on monday close.
Therefore I see what used to be called yoyo trading going on throughout the day on monday with the MMs constantly going and putting the onus from buy to sell and vise versa. I think anyone who expects the big increase as per the last contract win is going to be dissapointed.
I would say up most at 10% and down most to above the level of the placing that is about to be announced.
For sure the speculators will be out come monday evening and I then expect a period of consolidation above the placing price say as per figures banded about 110 to 115p and then a gradual breakout and rise with further news in the pipeline throughout the year.
I am sure that come December the stock price will be above the last high and Im a conservative type of investor.
Good luck to all.
cheers GF.

Bones,
A question!
If another contract deal is coming, why are they doing the placing first?
Surely it would be better to deliver the contract news, let the price rise, THEN do the placing?
Normally a price drifts back towards a placing price, which must surely mean we are going to go backwards here then? Maybe a good few will sell to buy back in cheaper later? and who can blame them?
This looks like a trader's dream in the short term, and not why I invested.
I would have preferred a 120p placing price personally.
