What tools are availabel to partially automate and schedule "browsing"?
(eg. download pages with known ULR's or as results of searching).
And what's the most flexible combinations of scripting/programming/software
to use if I wants to write a tailored solution?
thanks.

Help. I have some files that I am unable to delete. They are supposed to be temp internet files and they look like they are from a session on ebay. They do not respond to anything. I can't delete them or move them or open them. How do I get rid of them?
Thanks.

Optimist - thanks. I have now tried that but it doesn't let me drill down to the files I want to delete. In fact it doesn't show the appropriate folders starting about 4 or 5 levels above. Hmmmmmm strange.

They show up when I go and try and delete them in normal set up but when I tried in safe mode I couldn't get to them. They are in a sub directory of documents and settings.

I found this link which says delete the content ie5 folder in safe mode but of course I can't get to it.

Yes I had logged in as Administrator so Logged in to safe mode with normal login and I was able to locate the files but, alas, not delete them. Was also not able to delete the folders. The message was something like - "Unable to delete, Cannot find the specified file, check file name or path blah blah".
I don't quite understand.
There was a mass of stuff from the specific day when these files were created from ebay and it looks like every other site I visited. I wonder if I had some other hidden problem that caused them to be dumped in there?? There was very little else in the folders. But why would some ebay search files be causing a problem when all of the other ebay temp files (and all the other sites)were easy to delete. I don't get it. This is when I really hate computers!
Thanks for your help.

Robb, the explanation is probably that your PC crashed in the middle of creating the files. Try doing a Scandisk.
If the files are still there it is safe to delete all of the folders within the Content.IE5 folder if it will let you (they will simply be recreated). You may need administrator access in which case you shouldn't need safe mode, but to see them you may well need to enable Tools/Folder Options/View tab/Show hidden files and folders in Windows Explorer since this setting is on a per user basis.

Thanks chaps. I'll try your suggestions.
As an aside this is the start of one of the filenames - the others are similar

That's just part of a search URL, in this case carp fishing rods :-) Something went wrong and Windows probably put history files in the temp files folder rather than the history folder.

Evening.
don't know if anyone can help?
a) I am trying to get outlook to work with a hosted email address and I keep getting the following error:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'pop.1and1.co.uk', Server: 'pop.1and1.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
I have spoken to 1and1 and they can't really help, all is ok their end. I can't send or receive mail.
b) Kayak (the man of all knowledge!) I am looking to buy some offshore companies but it seems the Jersey etc.. are no longer tax havens? Do I have to go the the BVI etc..? Any ideas?
Thanks.
