OK temporary accomodation for us ex-pats of Spacie's coffee house that is sadly now boarded up and in memory of Goldie's old pad the tearooms.
No fancy stuff, as this is temporary until we find a nice new place but it's warm down here with the fire and aga and I've organised a daily guinness, lager and wine delivery. There is a small kitchen in the corner and a few comfy cosy armchairs.
So feel free to take refuge when you need a break - self-service generally I'm afraid but when I can I'll rustle up a meal :>)

Athens is the place where they do very little work,
but rip off non greeks (and greeks) even if you
speak and read some greek.
Lived there for awhile.OK if you stay away
from the tourist areas.
Which doesn't leave you much elbow room.
Apart from the commercial side, nice place
and nice people.

Blimey the night shift has been in....
Much as I hate Athens i definitely don't hate Greeks, the ones I have worked and met with there over the last 7 years have been unfailingly professional hard working and very capable and really nice people.
The company I work for have now completed the sale of that business so I wont be seeing them again and I will miss them.
Its just the city that I cant stand ! its an odd mixture os modern european and third world, its also hot and dusty and a bit chaotic.

Tim
Not sure about on/off time. Probably work 2/3 weeks then home for a week. Not looking forward to heat but plus side is they are paying for us to stay at Sheriton Beach resort, so weekends should be fun. They pay all expenses, but will only fly economy rather than business which is a bummer.

Jeff,
Don't know if it has survived the modernisation
but there was a market place & souk on the creek.
Very lively place.

I havn't drunk it(won't even mention the name)
for more than 20 years, as it had deteriorated
so much from the original.
I believe its even worse nowadays.

Guinness, Guinness, Guinness, Been off for the weekend Jeff, I'll fill the bar with the stuff. May have or may not have deteriated a bit tyketto but it's much more consistant than some of the stuff they are selling as ale nowadays.

For some reason or other they've stopped issuing it in hospitals
many years ago.
Usually the brews you get abroad are tailored for the region.
I've had 11% in Gabon and the Cameroons, drunk at room temperature.
The far East stuff was undrinkable, even after freezing it. About 4% I think.
When they opened their first brewery abroad, in Lagos, after about 3
months the Nigerians boycotted it until they raised the strength from
from maidens water to about 5%. Again drunk at room temp.
Try drinking the current edition at 30C.

Yuk 30C Guiness.
I used to hate the stuff but got a taste for it when I was working in Ireland a few years ago, I dont have it very often now but the stuff I have had in the UK fairly recently tasted fine to me.
