THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Express is another comic. The Telegraph is a bit too right for me, but it does have the biggest percentage of news items. Of course the Guardian has the least.

I am sure somebody can dig out the real number of hours worked in the UK per week.

Also, the wages and "salaries" paid per week.

Also, the cost of subsidies given to the said "private sector businesses", which are paying "low wages" , saving on their "costs" and relying on their "work force" being given or dependant on "state handouts" to survive on from Taxes. (I.E partially nationalised industry comes to mind.)

Another future argument is that the tories are distorting employment figures by the rise of the "school leaving" age.

As I said I wouldn't trust Cameron and the present Maites further than I can spit.

Not even that far.

Hays,

They do have intriguing cartoons.

This one must apply to the tory party and UK politics in general.

GMB union slashes Labour party funding

Union cuts its party affiliation funds from £1.2m to £150,000 in wake of Ed Miliband's controversial opt-out plans

Nicholas Watt, chief political correspondent

theguardian.com, Wednesday 4 September 2013 09.30 BST

"A further source of considerable regret to the CEC is that the party that had been formed to represent the interest of working people in this country intends to end collective engagement of trade unions in the party they helped to form. The CEC also decided to scale down by one third the level of its national political fund."

I am sure Obama will get his vote and bomb Syria's command and control systems. It seems likely that the US will also attempt to degrade Syria,s ability to defend themselves against the opposition. He had also said that he intends to train the oposition , probably in Jordan. It is unfortipunate that the US won't be bombing Israel's military installations. Thee is always the hope that Iran or Syria may do it. Israel are the equivalent of Syria in their treatment of Palestinians.

TANKER - 04 Sep 2013 13:53 - 28751 of 81564

hay , proves again he is a TERRORIST lover

Haystack - 04 Sep 2013 13:59 - 28752 of 81564

Palestinians are not terrorists. They want their country back. In WWII Germany occupied France. The free French army used to attack the Germans and we regard them as heros. The same is true of Palestinians. The Israelis were the true terrorists in Palestine at the end of the war when they used to kill British army soldiers as when they blew up the King David hotel. Those terrorists became Prime Ministers and Presidents of Israel.

TANKER - 04 Sep 2013 14:24 - 28753 of 81564

hamas are a terrorist org fact they are murderers
and the Palestinians voted for terrorists to take charge
hamas leaders have bought hundreds of houses out side of
Palestine for their retreat as they will hamas for retirement
the are the terrorists mafia filling their boots to a life of luxury
the Palestinians can not see the wood for the forest

Haystack - 04 Sep 2013 14:28 - 28754 of 81564

Hama's are freedom fighters and Israel are the terrorists.

TANKER - 04 Sep 2013 14:32 - 28755 of 81564

mnamreh - 04 Sep 2013 14:57 - 28758 of 81564

.

Haystack - 04 Sep 2013 15:08 - 28759 of 81564

How sweet those words are, "will not post to you again".

Fred1new - 04 Sep 2013 15:20 - 28760 of 81564

Mark,

It seems a little sad for the Unions action, but it would be better if individuals union members signed "authority" for Union to collect political "donations" and pass them to "chosen" party machinery without any discrimination.

I know when I was employed by NCB 50+ years ago during vacations that I had 3p? a week deducted from my wage packet.

Also, it will be sad, if unions become apolitical, (if that is possible), as the often they represent those in society who sometimes don't have the attributes to do so for themselves, or the necessary "muscle".

It seems time that political funding for parties to be addressed.

It will be daft if it the UK becomes like the USA, or different groups can purchase power on basis of present "personal" wealth.

Fred1new - 04 Sep 2013 15:22 - 28761 of 81564

Hays,

If you only meant it I would send you a Xmas card.
