How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

bakko,

got that thanks.

Dil,
I think the last one he won was about 4 or 5 years ago somewhere in Azerbijan. I remember seeing him wear the national costume which was a sight and a half!

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 14:42 - 2880 of 10502

I see Ancic (Seeded 18)lost the first set this morning and drifted to 1.9 ish. Now looks like winning. Down to 1.06. Been out all morning otherwise would have had some of that.

Did anyone else?

Harlosh,

Another site I totally rely on is
http://www.atptennis.com/en/
It has all the stats you'll ever need for men's tennis. An absolute goldmine of information

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 14:47 - 2882 of 10502

Thanks bak.

Looks like Henman has blown it again. Can't believe he is seeded 7. Incredibly unreliable.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

bakko - 25 May 2005 15:19 - 2884 of 10502

Managed to trade out of a Henman losing position to a win on Horna during the last set. Phew!!

Tip of the day, Lay Henman for every tournament!

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 15:21 - 2885 of 10502

Well done bak.

bakko - 25 May 2005 15:29 - 2886 of 10502

Thanks John.

I'm on Davenport/Peng game at the moment. Can't see Davenport, seeded 1, losing this.

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 15:54 - 2887 of 10502

Put my money where my mouth is now by backing Davenport at 1.96, she having lost the first set.

Bak, lets hope she turns it around for both our sakes.

Fundamentalist - 25 May 2005 15:57 - 2888 of 10502

Davenport out to 2.9 - has she been broken in 2nd set?

make that 3.95 - must have been

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 15:58 - 2889 of 10502

Yes, looks like it. Bloody hell, look at those odds go.

bakko - 25 May 2005 16:01 - 2890 of 10502

If Davenport doesn't turn this around I'll be broke too

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 16:02 - 2891 of 10502

She's broken back by the looks of it. There's hope yet bak.

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 16:04 - 2892 of 10502

Hope you piled in again at 4's bak. LOL

Fundamentalist - 25 May 2005 16:25 - 2893 of 10502

laid Peng at 1.11

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 16:26 - 2894 of 10502

Nice one Steve.

Scripophilist - 25 May 2005 16:27 - 2895 of 10502

LOL, Laid Henman and let it run. It never stopped out, didn't even check just went out for a long lunch.

I am becoming a Tennis convert.

Harlosh - 25 May 2005 16:28 - 2896 of 10502

Fundamentalist - 25 May 2005 16:28 - 2897 of 10502
