"All in all extreme caution is needed and only take confirmed news from the proper and correct Stanelco website dismiss rumor as rumor, misinformation as misinformation and disinformation as disinformation."
your quote , and i absolutely agree. three quarters of your post is about the asda deal , and how its not a done deal yet , and there's smoke and mirrors going on. bollocks. this is the full announcement.
Stanelco PLC
24 March 2005
24 March 2005
Stanelco PLC ('Stanelco' or the 'Group')
ASDA adopt Stanelco's GREENSEAL technology
Stanelco PLC, the RF (radio frequency) applications group, is pleased to
announce that it has signed a binding contract with ASDA for a 12-month
exclusive agreement for the application of the Group's GREENSEAL tray lidding
and thermoforming RF technology in the UK and Ireland. ASDA anticipate that
several hundred machines will be adapted to utilise the technology due to the
significant benefits it delivers.
The agreement follows successful trials at a number of different ASDA suppliers
and will mean that the suppliers involved in the programme will, where
practical, convert from traditional heat-sealing to Stanelco's revolutionary RF
technology.
The main benefits of Stanelco's GREENSEAL technology are:
- An up to 20% lower cost of packaging material;
- A higher integrity seal substantially reducing the possibility of packs
leaking;
- A removal of laminated plastics in favour of mono plastics, which can be
easily recycled providing significant environmental benefits and
- A saving of up to 70% on power usage in the traylidding/thermoforming
machines.
The costs associated with conversion will be greatly outweighed by the financial
and other benefits indicated. It is expected that, according to plan, this
agreement will generate a revenue stream for Stanelco significantly in excess of
5m in the first year alone. Even before the first machine has been converted
ASDA and Stanelco are working together to look at other areas of opportunity for
the technology.
The 12-month agreement will commence from the first Monday following two weeks
of further successful trials with three ASDA suppliers. This is expected to be
in April. These commercial trials are in addition to the completed trial
announced on 1 March 2005. The underlying access agreement to adopt the
technology will be between Stanelco and each of ASDA's packaged food suppliers
with Stanelco taking on responsibility for installation and maintenance of the
tray-lidding technology.
Ian Balchin, Chief Executive of Stanelco commented:
'We are delighted to have signed a formal agreement with ASDA. This is the final
step of the first phase in the commercialising of this technology, and a very
significant step in the transformation of Stanelco into an intellectual property
business, exploiting the Group's core technologies. This contract is excellent
news for Stanelco and its shareholders and reflects the hard work put in by all
our staff. We look forward to working with ASDA on the implementation.'
Tony Ruane, Technical Manager, Meal Solutions category at ASDA said:
'This is a first to market for ASDA - real innovation. This could well turn out
to be the biggest thing in packaging for years. The benefits for both the
environment, our customers and suppliers from this technology are far reaching.
The potential for the use of Stanelco's technology grows every time we look at
it. Every visit to both stores and suppliers identifies new areas and ways in
which the technology can be used. We are looking forward to working with
Stanelco.'
Ends
without taking a sentence or phrase out of context and using that as a thesis for shite , it says , it's a done deal , signed.

Please - it clearly states
The 12-month agreement will commence from the first Monday following two weeks
of further successful trials with three ASDA suppliers. This is expected to be
in April.
So it is still pending and not confirmed. And any RNS must state that all 3 trials of 2 weeks are successful - not just one is ok so far - the news must be all 3 or do not bother with an RNS.
In view of the 2 RNSs about the USA - this is my opinion -
SEO are trying to lead people into thinking a deal with Walmart is done - why else ? Its the SEO PR ramping machinery in action. If Tesco were to say they are upgrading their tills to be ready for 3bn profits - would they be ridiculed or would you say wow - they must be getting 3bn turnover very soon. The announcements could have been made when the Asda deal was confirmed - but they have shot their bolt as the share price needed support - it is clear and no one will argue that 18p is fair value and fairly high forward PE for 2006 financial year if the Asda deal is confirmed - it appears the SEO PR ramping team are trying to cater for fall back by feeding the frenzy for any news - even if its worthless. They are staring the facts of iterim and prelim losses to report for 2005. The concern should be - are they feeding the frenzy as there is going to be more delays on the Asda deal ? That is a valid question - is it just Smoke and Mirrors to divert attention.

I would not be surprised at all to see an RNS from SEO next week - telling us nothing - just some more spin and not saying what it needs to say - that would be its done and dusted and all ok and the Asda deal is now valid and no longer pending. This is an RNS I would say would give credence to the 18p value - but so far just spin and hype and smoke and mirrors.

it does not need another rns telling us anything more. the start date is already in the rns.
"SEO are trying to lead people into thinking a deal with Walmart is done"
how? nobody from seo has mentioned that a deal with walmart is done. the biggest market for this technology is america. it makes a lot of sense to me to have teams of american engineers trained and ready to move if a deal is done in america, be it walmart or anyone else.

Sold GMC for quite a loss. Have just invested the remainder in some more of these in the hope of recouping some of the loss. For what it is worth I feel a lot happy now with this money in seo. A quick profit is nice but long term will do me fine.
Fingers crossed

If insider cannot get the facts right about Tesco, then why should we take notice of his utterances on SEO. If Tesco announced that their turnover was going to be 3bn everybody would say wow as this would amount to a fall of 90%
Insider confuses his profit with t/over, can we assume everything else is confused?

Well, well folks. InsiderInsider, where have you been before now? Why are you so short on SEO? Don't you believe in the opportunities for RF not just with meat packs but other opportunities within packaging. Don't you believe Tony Ruane of ASDA (not SEO) when he talks about this technology and what it will deliver for Asda, that is the key point mate, ASDA are as big on this as SEO.
You do make one good point, if it all goes tits up SEO sp will nose-dive but it aint going to happen. Asda would not issue their own statements for it to go wrong, Advanced Energy and Premier would not waste time with agreements and training if it wasn't going to happen. I believe that you are scare-mongering and talking from inside your own arris x2 but you are nonetheless entitled to your opinion, I just find it strange that you have only just appeared. Is it too wet today for your hero to jump over several double-deckers!!
If you are a shorter and not just expressing an opinion, go on son, give us all the chance to buy again, those folks gave me a bargain last week.

It would be worth trying though!!!
Still, he plays the game legally apparently and is very rich. I'd rather earn my money honestly though. I said MMG would fall from 300p and sold out at 270p for >200% profit and will buy back again soon below 200p. I read the sp the same as he did and could if rich enough or good enough have taken CFD on that.
Would that make me the same as EK? Yes and NO, same thoughts on a stock at a particular time, different way of going about it I suppose. I'd rather stick to investing. The thing is long term he is wrong on MMG and he got it oh so wrong on SEO last week, perhaps Insiderx2 should take notice of that, the most well known shorter around closed his short position on SEO with a 400k loss.

Ther was a big article in Which this week about the amount of waste that the supermarkets generate with un necessary packaging and non biodegradeable waste.
"Some attempts to make packaging more environmentally friendly work better than others. Tesco introduced biodegradeable packaging for organic fruit in 2001, claiming it could save millions of pounds in waste disposal. But its now used on just a few Tesco products as customeres weren't willing to pay for more costly packaging. Some other companies are still using biodegradeable packs. And they are not just limited to fruit; in Australia, Cadbury's Milk Tray chocolates are packed in plastic - a plastic made from corn starch that dissolves when wet and can be composted.
The Coop is pursuing new ways to cut excess packaging - for example by removing cartons from its tomato Puree and selling it in stand up tubes. Tesco is also working on using less cardboard - with a trial of thinner sleeves on its Finest ready meals. Tesco told its monitoring customers, reactions to its trial packs that, even if they sell well, it wont automatically extend the new thinner style to its standard ranges.
New laws means that were soon likely to see a new generation of food packaging. 'Active packs interact with food to prolong shelf life whilst intelligent packs tell you about the foods condition.EG Sainsbury's plans to sell pears packed with intelligent sensor labels'. These tell you when the pears are ripe by reacting to their aromas. Such innovations may seem to add to our packaging brden - but the hope is that they will lead to less food waste - another drain on lanf fill space"
........ and there more. It just goes to underline the potential of Green Seal and FrogPack and the amount of effort being put into reducing the cost of packaging and becoming more environmentally correct
Not a mention about ASDA - so I wrote to Which to enlighten them.
