THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

The trend for the polls has been Conservatives closing the gap.

There will be an attack on Syria whether you like it or not.

TANKER - 05 Sep 2013 14:42 - 28794 of 81564

asda to go to ZERO HOUR CONTRACTS joining mcdonalds weatherspoons and costa
starbucks and loads more

goldfinger - 05 Sep 2013 14:48 - 28795 of 81564

The unemployment figures are fiddled Fred just as they were under Thatcher.

Just double the figure at anytime and thats a more accurate reflection.

Thousands with Zero hour contracts and no employment rights, dont even get holiday pay and many on less than the minimum wage.

Then theirs the Zombie self employed jobs, thousands of them aswel.

Of course the Tory Boys will lie through their teeth and use the ONS figures but the figures are defunkt as they count 1 hour as being fully employed for a week.

True figure is more like 5 million unemployed in this country.

goldfinger - 05 Sep 2013 14:56 - 28796 of 81564

Yep TANKER and these so called apprenticeships are all in the retail trade.

Napoleon was right, poor skilled jobs.

WHEN as an apprenticeship been 9 to 12 months long???.

My father did 5 years as a engineering pattern maker.

Its all one big fiddle and the filthy rich are getting richer and richer. Some may call me an hypocrit, but It wasnt passed down to me, I made the money myself.

We were a very poor family and my parents made sure we got a very good education.

TANKER - 05 Sep 2013 15:25 - 28797 of 81564

gold I am wealthy and need for nothing . good luck to you I did not have much education but new our to make money

And yet another power grab....

Brussels seeks 'federalising' EU powers over justice and human rights

The EU should have new federal powers to intervene in a "rule of law crisis" and to impose human rights rulings, the European justice commissioner has said.

Unbelievable. Im divided but the more I read of issues like this Max the more I feel like getting out.

Stan - 05 Sep 2013 17:08 - 28802 of 81564

G/F,

A 26-year-old woman's 88-pound weight loss has gone viral after a Reddit user created a time-lapse GIF that shows the woman's body transformation in just five seconds.

Amanda, who asked that her last name not be used, began taking photos of herself in 2011 as a way to stay on track when she committed to losing weight.

Amanda started weighing 222 pounds. By eating a high-protein diet, controlling her portions and doing moderate exercise, Amanda lost the 88 pounds in one year and has kept it off.

Hays,

Just been told that CAMERON and the UK has been sidelined at the G20.

Told he is from a back water country.

-----------

It is untrue.

Dave has put on his Bullingdon Club suit and is waiting at table.

Mind he will try and make a sandwich of the scraps later.

Haystack - 05 Sep 2013 19:44 - 28806 of 81564

Funny, the news broadcasts show no signs of Cameron being sidelined. Miliband is the leper now in international politics.

hilary - 05 Sep 2013 19:56 - 28807 of 81564

Fishfinger,

Do you actually have a brain of your own or are you simply roadtesting one for an idiot?

Just curious.

OBC,

I'll speak to my son to see if he can get you into the Bullingdon Club as a fully paid up member. You might have to go tramp-searching and burn a wad of scores under their noses (pegs provided) as part of the initiation ceremony, but, hey ho, I'm sure it'll be worth the fun.

cynic - 05 Sep 2013 19:56 - 28808 of 81564

in answer to sticky's question, i have just this evening returned from the "boys' annual cycling jolly" in france

Haystack - 05 Sep 2013 19:58 - 28809 of 81564

There he goes again. Using cycling and jolly in the same sentence.

cynic - 05 Sep 2013 20:33 - 28810 of 81564

not my fault if you're a porker! :-)

actually, it was tougher this year than intended, not least because Day 4 was into a headwind throughout.
also, it was a longer trip than usual at 50 miles a day with some quite hard climbing (by our low standards)

Haystack - 05 Sep 2013 20:35 - 28811 of 81564

Plenty of skinny people don't like cycling.

hilary - 05 Sep 2013 20:39 - 28812 of 81564

Cyners,

My husband's (take note, fishfinger!) just bought himself one of them fancy Panamera thingamajigs. They're pretty good in a headwind if you're struggling with the hill climbs.
