THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Manuel,

I will revise my statement and make it only partially bonkers!

Must must be "sain" or "insane" to consider riding 50 miles/day.

-------------

Have this strange vision of you riding in one of those box trailers towed by some French owners of their "old dogs" behind them.

cynic - 06 Sep 2013 13:58 - 28881 of 81564

that as may be, but it does not make me to the right of atilla!

in honesty, 40/50 miles a day, even for us old farts isn't that tough and gives us plenty of time to smell the sights and see the the flowers + to imbibe the odd pression or pastis
however, this year we averaged just over 50 and there was quite a bit of strenuous hill work - silly cynic!

Fred1new - 06 Sep 2013 15:18 - 28882 of 81564

Cynic,

You don't have to write about Hays in that manner.

He can't help himself.

dreamcatcher - 06 Sep 2013 15:21 - 28883 of 81564

You look well cynic. lol

cynic - 06 Sep 2013 15:28 - 28884 of 81564

that was at the beginning, but after a few decent meals with plenty of wine i'm sure you'll be able to find a more up-to-date pic

Haystack - 06 Sep 2013 15:28 - 28885 of 81564

And this was after cycle ride!

dreamcatcher - 06 Sep 2013 15:47 - 28886 of 81564

lol.

Fred... Export Import figures, were tweeted by Mike hewson senior analyst at CMC markets.

Started a debate on twitter as to why Massive disconnect between PMI's and ONS data - discuss?

Says they usually have a slight variance but WHY such a big one this time.

Agreed Osbourne got the figs before they were published and shouldnt have.

My question is this did Camoron and Osbourne get the figures before PMQs and deliberatly mislead parliament???????????????????????????????????????????

doodlebug4 - 06 Sep 2013 16:01 - 28888 of 81564

One of the few good reasons to go cycle riding, in my view, is that you can't get done for drink driving.

cynic - 06 Sep 2013 16:12 - 28889 of 81564

but you may end up in the mortuary instead :-)

Thank you Mnam, I'll keep that in mind! I think a few years ago some chap got done for driving a golf buggy home under the affluence of incohol, mind you I think he was on a motorway at the time, so he was probably pushing his luck a bit.

skinny - 06 Sep 2013 16:31 - 28893 of 81564

I was stopped along with a few mates, cycling home 'merry' after our 'A' levels and told as much - "drunk in charge of a bicycle" - the two coppers let us off and watched us wobble off pushing our bikes.

Fred1new - 06 Sep 2013 16:36 - 28894 of 81564

DB,

That was Andy Powell after a Scotsman "spiked" his drink after Wales beat Scotland.

I wouldn't have liked to have stopped him!

Better looking than Manuel.

Beat me to it Fred - I can't believe it was 4 years ago.

skinny - 06 Sep 2013 16:37 - 28897 of 81564

At least your not Welsh cynic! :-)

Cynic,

Leaving the argy bargy out, what would you do in the Syrian conflict

1) Nothing other than humanitarian aid ?
2) Humanitarian and arms to said "rebels" ?
3) Above and attempts at "missile" degradation of Assad's weaponry?
4) Above with "advisors" on the ground?
5) Above above and feet on ground?

When, after negative or positive vote by Security Council?

With any of the above, what do you see as the situation in Syria and M.E.
