blanche - 30 Jul 2009 10:48 - 292 of 3666

From Merrill Lynch

** The spokesperson & leader of the Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC), Cynthia Whyte
**...comprising Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), and...
** Reformed Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (RNDPVF) and the Martyrs Brigade,...
**confirms the ultimatum was terminated on Tuesday @ 11pm, just hours after it was made.
** Moreovew, that AFREN's campaign is strengthened by its strategic alliances with local co.s...
**whose leadership & management they fully commend in supporting the Niger Delta people.
** The rescinding of the threat is a clear and unambiguous one.
** Reiterate BUY, PO 80p.

cynic - 11 Aug 2009 07:24 - 293 of 3666

AFR announce they have secured a rig to develop the Ebok field.
not exactly earth-shattering news, but at least it puts some sort of progress expectations in the diary, and thus further interest in sp

blanche - 11 Aug 2009 07:32 - 294 of 3666

That little bit of news will hopefully and finally push us through that 60p barrier.

required field - 11 Aug 2009 08:44 - 295 of 3666

That's good news....now some major progress will be made...100p by next summer.

blanche - 11 Aug 2009 08:47 - 296 of 3666

rf, By xmas i think you mean!

cynic - 11 Aug 2009 08:49 - 297 of 3666

i think rf knows that christmas only comes in the summer in the southern hemisphere - lol
100p by christmas would be very nice but as likely as today being warm and sunny in the home counties!

required field - 11 Aug 2009 09:03 - 298 of 3666

It is best not be over optimistic..a rise in the sp is due but 100p is still some way off..

blanche - 11 Aug 2009 09:04 - 299 of 3666

I dont know cynic next bits of good news and the focus will fall back on afren, and we will move up again. Plenty of good news to come before xmas. plus ive written to santa and told him thats what i what!

5bag - 11 Aug 2009 17:44 - 300 of 3666

La noumbi gets spudded in the next 5wks, site currently undergoing preparation. Bit late but the website date was only 'indicative' according to Afren IR. Only 14% WI but we have the chance of a decent find in the tie-tie updip.

Ebok FDP approval should be a formality and announced in next couple of weeks. The Okoro setu FDP went through in about 3 wks, some kind of record for the oil ministry at that time.

Afren are looking at 3-4 deals (acquisitions) at any one time, as they are now. They would be "very disappointed if they didnt get one of them past the finishing post".

If we dont get a double dip recession and the arse falling out of the crude price again i anticipating 100p+ by xmas. Just my polarised view though.

GL all.

Nar1 - 18 Aug 2009 10:07 - 301 of 3666

Seems to fighting back from yesterdays drop.

boxerdog - 20 Aug 2009 06:57 - 302 of 3666

With crude reaching some $72 PB. and the FTSE. Set to open some 65 points up today, we could find ourselves back to 58p today right where we were this time last week. With all the fundamentals nicely in place this has got to break the 60p resistance very soon. Well that's what I keep telling myself!.

required field - 20 Aug 2009 14:51 - 303 of 3666

It might just puncture a hole in the 60's ceiling this time at long last.

Nar1 - 20 Aug 2009 18:07 - 304 of 3666

3rd time lucky ?

blanche - 24 Aug 2009 10:05 - 305 of 3666

yeah!! Finally through the 60p mark.

cynic - 24 Aug 2009 10:21 - 306 of 3666

has done that intra-day before i think, so Q is whether or not it will hold and progress

blanche - 24 Aug 2009 10:33 - 307 of 3666

You`re right cynic it did go through 60p intraday about a month ago. If it holds above 62p imo we should be on breakout.

required field - 24 Aug 2009 11:00 - 308 of 3666

Let's hope it stays in the 60's now, also bought into PFC this morning on the unfair knockdown.
