Eric Robson
Paul 1812
Tallsiii

Group 3

Bob Colby

Format: Maximum Handicap 24, Stableford. Nearest the pin, holes 5 & 15, longest drive, hole 17. As stated previoulsy there will be a 5 fee to enter the nearest pin and longest drives to purchase some balls, plus a few bottles of wine donated by moi and Eric.

Remember to bring jacket and tie for the evening. If wearing tailored shorts, white socks must be worn.

Also no headbutting, gouging or biting and may the best man (me!) win.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. I will be at the clubhouse by about 0815, so suggest everyone else gets there not long after so we can have a chat over a cup of coffee. Eric, will find out today if any food will be available on arrival.

fell through the floorboards at the house im renovating a few weeks back and knackered my knee again!!! currently undergoing extensive physio in a race to be fit for the big day - though pretty certain that 36 holes is a no-no already and 18 holes looking dubious - if only the course had buggies!

Scripophilist - 14 Jun 2005 13:50 - 290 of 440

No buggies would definately rule me out even if I get the all clear tomorrow.

markusantonius - 16 Jun 2005 14:00 - 291 of 440

How is your knee, Fundy? Scrip, are you in or out? Remember - you only live once - so get yer clubs out, fella!

ptholden - 16 Jun 2005 14:17 - 292 of 440

tallsiii

Received your c/q thankyou and have given you a handicap of 24.

The big day draws ever closer chaps, if anyone needs any further information, please let me know. Don't forget to bring a jacket and tie for the Dinner.

There is a Quality hotel but a mile away if anyone needs to stay overnight.

PJ

Time to send a cheque and your guests names?

Markus

have agreed with Peter that i can leave the decision to the last minute but at the moment prob 30/70 chance of playing. Its an aggravation of an old rugby ligament injury - id only just got back playing after previous probs with it when i did it again

markusantonius - 16 Jun 2005 17:07 - 294 of 440

No worries, Fundy. I was looking forward to playing with a fellow northerner (originally, that is) not least because I read some of your posts, as well. Hope you can make, but if not, wish you a speedy recovery.

Hey, at this rate if Paul pulls out I will end up being the lowest handicapper!

pjacobs (MoneyAM) - 16 Jun 2005 17:29 - 295 of 440

PTH

Stuart Lane - MST handicap of 6 (i think)

geoff is no longer coming, am trying to get one or two others to come.

will get mike to raise a cheque and post it off!!!! CHEERS MIKE

marcus

you can give me a revised h'cap of 12 if you like!!

EWRobson - 16 Jun 2005 23:33 - 297 of 440

pth: great work. What a bold decision on handicaps. Like the point about straight hitting, but the big advantage of most lower handicap guys is that they hit the ball further and therefore go further off line for a given deg. deviation! lol! Answer is to plod straight down teh middle - do you remember RDBM (Right down the bloody middle) Shade - if not, shows what a youngster you are! But agree that you should be off same handicap as others.

Just as well I know you haven't paid that cheque in - likely otherwise to have bounced as every spare penny goes into another SEO CFD!

Eric

markusantonius - 16 Jun 2005 23:50 - 298 of 440

Hey, Eric..... PTH has already confessed to me that he's spent up the entry pot. Turns out (he reckons!) that there's no spare dosh in the kitty for supplementary prizes? So I guess we are all playing for the main M-AM Prizes now - albeit not to be sniffed at, must admit.

Personally I reckon you have become 2nd favourite after recent events. Just because you make excellent posts and have made me shed loads of dosh, I don't think that you're sole 1/8 vote for full handicaps should've been sanctioned by Peter!

But, well, OK..... so be it. At least he's promised me that you and I will be playing in the same Texas Scramble team a.m.!!!!!

EWRobson - 17 Jun 2005 22:19 - 299 of 440

Well Marcus, knocked out, indeed veritably thrashed in the national Seniors paris today at West Malling. John, off 5, was one under gross when match ended. Texas Scrambles are great - I get to hit my second shot from where I 'imagine' or 'dream' my first shot will go!
