Does anyone else have a problem with canbcelling stops with cmc? It often takes so long that the price has moved quite a lot.

magg ive had same somtimes.....ive had 30 sec fills 2 sec fills, would it surprise you if i told you i was taken off the auto fill systm ages ago..
so i adapt my trading accordingly... once you whack them a few times for a bit of dough, you get taken off and filled by dealer....

mostrader. Does that mean you always have to 'phone in to trade?
Jeffmack - Never heard of rule No 4! Usually it's to close, unless it's to bring a stop down to breakeven.

nope ill trade online but tickets get held for abt 30 secs..which isnt always helpful, but if iam trading stocks,i,e BARC,ill be in 100 quid a tic so ill phone thru.other wise they dick around with the price then use a take profit to get out of it..

mos one of the main reasons I only trade fx is because I got fed up being requoted on stocks but it has turned out to my advantage as since I started only trading fx I have been doing far better

one thing to watch is the hedge funds, about 3/3.30 each fri there black box sytems get to work and normally they will trade in the way the market has been trending the previous few days..it does happen...just be aware of it...

I only use cmc as apart from long term investment I only spread bet for my short term trading. As I work full time I think I already pay enough tax so when I make money spread betting it feels good to know that the profit is tax free.
