maestro - this sounds just like the write-up FSL gave NXT in 1998, when I first came across them. The news has been consistently bad for so many years and the excuses ever more pathetic. Come to think of it, they look the perfect investment for you. Fill yer nappy, son! ;-))

PS - the point is that if NXT haven't convinced the world of the strength of their product by now, chances are they won't.

There are thousands of better opportunities out there.

I agree - downhill from 2003 and that was a market peak - just what is this technology worth?
Well, not a lot it seems - if you want really good sound, a loudspeaker is a perfectly reasonable way to convert electric into moving air.
All NXT achieves is a buzzing panel - which is fine as far as it goes - but I can't see this management providing shareholders with an income.....that's why we invested.

Look at the Ofex alternative - and you see where these odd-ball sound businesses will plumb. Feonic - dire or what?


-Had NTX invested in quality speaker production, it would have been a different story - (like a "Bose" of Speakers UK ) - - - and grief! this is the Age of multimedia and new sound developments....

Being a provider of technology may be appealing - let the manufacturer take the risk and apply their capital - but with real products comes profit - the Lion's share, whereas the IP is worth maybe 1-2% of the final price, before the retailers get their sticky hands on it...

An earlier Poster mentioned "Goodmans" - I am not aware of any ownership/connection - and surely G- is now a Brand, like Roberts and many other fine manufacturers.
The ear-exciter sounds like what used to be called the "Bone-phone" although it had nothing to do with telephones - it was a horse-shoe shaped collar that contained a stereo pair of transducers which conducted sound through the body to the ears. If NTX can re-invent that, it could have a future - but most of these schenes are fads IMHO.... as I said: if you want decent sound, use a loudspeaker...that will shift the air!
NTX went into the Automobile replacement market - and that was their best move, IMHO as it should give them contact with auto-buyers who will be unconvincee by promises - they will know exactly what they need, when and where - no messing! The auto market can be exciting and I fear the NTX execs are overcome with excitement at the car...rather than selling speaker bits to all-comers.
I still think NTX should have some cabinet speakers, thin..waterproof for shower/wet-rooms...boats, etc.
But I'm a lost investor...what do I know?

Tbe problem is that no one really wants their products. It is amazing that they have managed to stay in business so long. They have hit a new all-time low share price today and look like heading down even more. It doesn't seem likely that they will still exist in the near future.

I actually have had a set of speakers for several years and pretty good they are too.

I always remember the idea put forward around the millenium whereby within a short time they expected a car windscreen to be the speaker, as would be roof tiles in offices, etc, etc. Infact anything that was flat and panel-like. ;-))

Re someone's earlier comment on Goodmans, it was a part of this company a decade ago. I guarantee it!

NXT sees audio product sales, licensee shipments falling below hopes - AFX


LONDON (Thomson Financial) - NXT PLC is seeking alternative short-term revenue sources after warning that sales and licensee shipments in stand-alone audio products in the last two months are likely to fall 'significantly' below its expectations.

In a trading statement the sound technology company said it is reviewing its short-term capital requirements and ongoing cost structure.

'Given the reduced level of short term revenue generated by stand-alone audio products, the board is considering all strategic alternatives to protect and build shareholder value,' the company said.

It said it believes that several ongoing strategies and developments laid the foundation for medium-term sustainable revenue.
