land ahoy....landround (LDR)

CAPT BLIGH - 17 Jul 2003 17:01

Jumped into this bullet proof little number today, mind you its had an incredible run, so I might have missed the big rise. Still if they keep using large chunks of cash to buy shares for the Employee Trust it seems like a no brainer. Anyway adding these to my new "safe" portfolio with ELECO PTI and CKN

Can anyone say why the huge collapse in 2005?
Sorry it wasn't on my watch-list and the above posts seems to avoid mentioning anything untoward.
It can't have been the oil-price, or additional security reducing passenger numbers - can it?
Hope someone knows . . .

Accounting irregularities.More recently they had a large placing at 20 pence that has diluted the equity.

Thanks hrfulleruk, today sees 8p . . . and a News release ( Not RNS - why?) that losses may be greater than last year's "exceptionals" - -er, so they were only exceptional by being smaller. . . . . Grr.
I don't hold - always thinking they were rather expensive for something that is really corporate hospitality - a grey area for me being close to ....... Still different strokes, etc. but I must say I prefer a company with an actual product, satisfies a need etc . . . This Co. appears to rely upon winning contracts - and in these times of cutbacks...I guess expensive promotions can be dropped, just spending a little less with a slap-up meal for clients.

I had them for the cheap ferry tickets to Ireland, which have turned out to be very expensive now...doh!!
