Hello All,

Try looking at the posts on the top thread - about the down time and system changes. I think you will find that this explains all.

Madison - 10 Aug 2004 10:31 - 31 of 43

Bullshare,

"If anyone had live before and they were not on those levels it was in error, and a bonus."

Since there are already six posters (Madison, SueHelen, optomistic, torquay, STORMCALLER and 2Richard2) who have noted the loss of live streaming so far, this "error" must have been pretty widespread. I imagine that others will have been using this information as frequently as I have.

Can you explain the logic of continuing to provide the streaming UKX chart to us but removing the convenience of the ticker?

When a share price moves on the stockwatch page one would generally want to know whether this is a reflection of general market movement or specific to the particular stock. Even an amateur like me needs this! I don't really want to keep having to dive off somewhere else to find out.

For me, you may have eliminated the single most important reason to use Moneyam.

Madison, the problem is that the FTSE is not licenced by the stock exchange but by a separate company, www.ftse.com. MoneyAM has to pay an additional licence fee per user for live FTSE, hence the additional cost.

can anyone use advfn?I can't even open the page.

Madison - 10 Aug 2004 13:17 - 34 of 43

Kayak,

Thanks for that info and I take the point.

I just don't see the logic of still providing streaming UKX chart. Also, I,m interested to know whether the withdrawal of the streaming FTSE is as big an inconvenience to others as it is to me.

2Richard2 - 10 Aug 2004 14:04 - 35 of 43

I'm surprised MAM didn't give the reasoning yesterday for the additional charge, & just hope that they don't discontinue the streaming UKX chart. I agree it is certainly inconvenient not having streaming FTSE on the Stockwatch page.

Madison from my point of view it is pointless if FTSE is not(almost) real-time.
I have overcome this problem by over-lapping a real-time streaming FTSE.

Madison - 10 Aug 2004 22:04 - 37 of 43

STORMCALLER - are you on the free service or one of the plus levels?

torquay - please tell me more about "over-lapping a real-time streaming FTSE"! Just considering my options at present.

Thanks,

Madison

STORMCALLER - 10 Aug 2004 22:16 - 38 of 43

Madison,
I've got a subsription, but no "plus" so no more ftse, but as I said yesterday, regarded it as a bonus. Streaming stockwatch is killed by office firewall, so it only worked at home anyway.

Kayak, you don't by any chance have any idea of cost of the "additional licence fee per user for live FTSE"?

Just trying to decide whether I want to pay MoneyAM 137.50 a year solely for this (since I have no interest in any other "Plus" facility at present).

Regards, Madison

Kayak - 12 Aug 2004 23:48 - 40 of 43

Sorry, I don't Madison.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 13 Aug 2004 07:24 - 41 of 43

STORMCALLER,

What firewall do you have at the office? Would you be interested in trying a tweak which has allowed us to bypass some (but not all) corperate firewalls?

daves dazzlers - 13 Aug 2004 10:17 - 42 of 43

mine is still not right, everthing on the leftside of stockwatch is now gone missing,,,,,,,charts,,trades,,news, the lot.
thought when i got back it would be fixed, obviously not.

STORMCALLER - 13 Aug 2004 10:40 - 43 of 43

JT,
I did try one on the recent "testers needed" thread, sent you lovely java console output of the failures:-

http://www.moneyam.com/InvestorsRoom/ShowPostList?fID=1&tID=3550&from=6&to=6

If you have a new tweak I would be willing to assist, but as far as I can tell firewall apparently blocks applets?!? so I need a very special tweak.
