A lot more downside too come, there will be some up days but shorting for the rest of this year is my plan. As said before I have made more this year shorting than the last five years investing.

That's the trouble with Lancastrians :-)

optomistic - 22 Sep 2011 12:23 - 2911 of 5370

That's good news TANKER now we'll be able to afford to get involved in fighting more wars around the world!

ExecLine - 22 Sep 2011 12:54 - 2912 of 5370

Lots of positives with the gas find (eg, will last the whole of the UK for over 50 years, 5,000 jobs could be created) but, because the gas is trapped in shale, there are lots of big negatives with it too.

The process of extracting the gas - known as fracking - involves using high pressure water to fracture the shale beds deep underground, releasing the gas trapped within them. Alleged side effects include contaminated drinking water and even gas jets erupting from your bath taps.

But it could just turn the whole of Lancashire into a kind of Dallas.

skinny - 22 Sep 2011 12:56 - 2913 of 5370

Wasn't their 1st attempt at fracking linked to a minor earthquake?

TANKER - 22 Sep 2011 13:17 - 2914 of 5370

Maybe they will clean up their beach & sea from brown, to blue. You would then be able to swim with your mouth open without fear of copping a turd.

TANKER - 22 Sep 2011 14:45 - 2916 of 5370

obama is a nutter

dreamcatcher - 22 Sep 2011 15:20 - 2925 of 5370

I would say he is a weak leader.

Bernard M - 22 Sep 2011 15:20 - 2926 of 5370

I love this.

Greg Philo, the research director of Glasgow University Media Unit, has called for much tougher action. He claimed last year that a one-off 20% tax on the personal wealth of the richest 10% of the UK would raise 800 billion.

Yes good idea.

Guys like this make me sick.
Billionaire retail boss Phillip Green also saw his tax affairs hit the spotlight last year after it emerged he saved millions of pounds in tax by paying a 1.2 billion dividend into an offshore vehicle registered to his wife in Monaco.

dreamcatcher - 22 Sep 2011 15:21 - 2927 of 5370
