How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Scripophilist - 25 May 2005 19:29 - 2919 of 10502

Just coming back ahead of the match. Two machines running. One for the horses and one for the football.

Fundamentalist - 25 May 2005 19:34 - 2920 of 10502

the frustrations of not letting profits run: master wells 7.35 ripon - laid at 2.94, backed back at 3.15 then watched it drift to 4.8 - ouch!!!!!

definitely still my biggest fault on the horses not letting my profits run

Scripophilist - 25 May 2005 19:49 - 2921 of 10502

Great start Liverpool in the Champions league final. Or should that be the we finished thirty points behind the champions final.

Fundamentalist - 25 May 2005 19:49 - 2922 of 10502

Time to green up on milan - only played to small stakes - damn!!!

see the milan coach's comment of we can score inside 3 minutes if we want to wasnt as hollow as most thought

Scripophilist - 25 May 2005 19:53 - 2923 of 10502

Should make for a good match to watch.

bakko - 25 May 2005 19:57 - 2924 of 10502

I get in late and switch on the TV to find Liverpool 1-0 down!

Will watch to see what I can get out of this game.

Has to be said though its a disgrace that Harry Kewell is playing in a champions league final

Scripophilist - 25 May 2005 20:24 - 2932 of 10502

It feels like I am watching Man U vs Southampton again.

cunningham - 25 May 2005 20:24 - 2933 of 10502

It's the Champions League Final, you would expect players to be able to kick with their left foot.

cunningham - 25 May 2005 20:24 - 2934 of 10502

What min and who scores then script.

Scripophilist - 25 May 2005 20:25 - 2935 of 10502
