* Sandwiches/Lunch.
** 18 Holes (MAIN INDIVIDUAL (FULL HANDICAP) STABLEFORD EVENT) with M-AM and Golfing Prizes for Winners, incl. "Nearest-to-the-Pin" on the 9th. Hole and "The-Longest-Drive" on the 18th. Hole.
* 3-Course Evening Dinner (full waitress service), incl. coffee & mints + Prize Presentation/Mic. Table.

Rutherford, You wrote 21 originally [see post: 278 of 295] so you must be coming down quickly, a Scottish bandito, me finx!!!

Fliper rising to 7 - this sounds a tad dodgy to me, as well? Mmmh... :o)

Everyone, please keep me updated re: exact handicaps, in the run up to "THE FIFTH MAJOR!". Thanks.

I have been dwelling on your request to bring a friend along... and, if there are still places left with a day or two before my entry expiry date, then I am of the opinion that this is acceptable (presuming he doesn't want to register with M-AM?) on the following basis: -

He can partake in everything on the day itself apart from collecting M-AM's own 'Level 2'/Silver & Bronze Medals/Shares Magazine Prizes. But he IS eligible to win the Morning Team and Afternoon Singles G0LFING Prizes. I, personally, do not have a problem with this assuming there are no objections from anyone else here.....?

Brock123,

Just to let you know I have received your cheque into the office today.

Mark,

Will be forwarded onto you today.

fliper - 09 May 2006 13:24 - 304 of 505

Markus , I have been playing on bad greens , cannot hole a putt. I putt better on good greens . Horsley may the course that can bring back my form !

EWRobson - 09 May 2006 17:03 - 305 of 505

Agree, Fliper. About three weeks ago our greens were running true and I had a round with 24 putts. Now, the hollow tining marks are indeed hollow which is not tehe intention, you can't putt with any confidence and you can easily take 10 mor shots in the round. Just looking forward to those US standard greens; what you see is what you get.

Agree re the badger's friend - what is she called?

fliper - 09 May 2006 17:53 - 306 of 505

At Horsley, they can put the pins in some nasty spots which can result in 3 or 4 putts . 3 to 4 levels on most of the greens . Unless markus speaks to the greenkeeper at 7am on the day of the comp ,it will be 36 or more putts for us all . (WHO SAID MARKUS HAS NEVER GOT UP BEFORE DINNER ! )

EWRobson - 09 May 2006 23:43 - 307 of 505

Ugh! Now, what is in the best interests of markus? First thought is that he will choose positions where he understands the vagaries and how to get at the pins. Second thought is that he will choose positions that he knows Fliper doesn't like. Third thought is that I was brought up putting at Pitlochry which made the 16th at Augusta look like child's play so I say: 'do your worst!'

Fundamentalist - 10 May 2006 00:12 - 308 of 505

Eric

if Pitlochry is the course i am thinking of, the first time i played there i hit 2 shots into the first about 15ft past a pin on the front edge. Thought id holed the putt only to watch in disbelief as it lipped out and kept going. Had to get my wedge back out and walk back down the hill!!!!

By the time id finished the 3rd that spring couldnt come soon enough

fliper - 10 May 2006 08:27 - 309 of 505

The shark knows I can draw or fade the ball into the pins . He has told me of a restaurant that I can eat for free , the night before the big day !

fliper - 10 May 2006 17:41 - 311 of 505

Markus , I see you have a new website , www.sharkenergy.co.uk , is this the drink that adds 50 yards to your drive ?

markusantonius - 10 May 2006 18:17 - 312 of 505

Brock123, I have received your cheque from Ian T today. Thanks for acting so swiftly, Tom. I only wish others would follow your lead! Spoke with HL management today and your room is now reserved until a fortnight prior to the Event, i.e. you need to contact them directly to make a nominal deposit by the 25th. May, latest.

Fliper, I needed some energy today... played in HL Medal this morning [see, mornings DO exist!]: 86 - and the worrying thing is this - Course was immaculate and the greens were the best I have seen them since I first joined. No-one in front or behind - "millionaires' golf!" - beautiful weather - breathtaking scenery - omnipresent lush green ambience - very good company - The Shark simply: "had a mare", sadly - 36 putts which is cataclysmic pour moi, as you know. :o(

Eric, do not worry, sir, Yours Truly CAN get up early when he has to. Yes, tight pin positions on HL can make up to a 4 - 5 stroke difference to the average player but sharks just attack whatever is put in their way, remember? :o)

PTH, You may well get cut anyway on 'Clause 19' as your '9' will default down to a nett double-bogey and so forth.
