The main activity of Biofuels is the large scale production and exploitation of biodiesel and glycerine following the construction and commissioning of the initial plant.
Biodiesel is produced from vegetable oils and, as an environmentally friendly product, can make a significant contribution towards reducing green house gases and meeting Kyoto targets.

I think there's a lot more life left in this particular moggy though we might have to wait a few months till the plant is nearer to opening before it gets back up on its feet and starts miaowing again.

what is going on with the share price. I can see no news to excuse the volitility. Perhaps I should trade on the troughs and peaks. What is the point in building a new factory if it isn't going to be viable?

Who said the factory isn't going to be viable?
I
n March the company said:
"Once the initial Plant is fully operational it is estimated, based on the
assumptions, that the Company could achieve an operating profit of up to 14
million before interest in a twelve month period. Excluding the impact of the
commodity hedge, this figure would be around 30 million."
The assumptions this is based on may have changed a little but there's no reason to assume we won't be looking at a healthy profit once the plant is up and running.

I agree that we may have to see some Biodiesel produced and sold before people warm to this one again. Until then, there may be many opportunities to pick this one up at a bargin.

Well, even 5m profit would be better than most of the shares I seem to invest in!
I'm in this for the long term as I believe the biofuel sector has a strong future.
It's a shame the ceo wasn't as talkative with the Telegraph's journalist as he was to you, saying nothing to the press in this sort of situation has given a much more negative impression than coming clean witth the facts (however disappointing) would have done.
I trust Biofuels will issue detailed financial projections based on its new assumptions asap. then we'll have a much clearer picture of where we stand.

hello Big Al, I've been watching BFC for a few months now because of a recommendation in a money mag, to me this looks like a good investment so it's down to timing an entry, I will wait to see if this is a start of an up trend.Regards goal.

Hi goal.
I've no position at present. Like the long term thing, but can't stick these in an ISA and I do little real share dealing outside that. Personally think this hit is well overdone, but you can't buck the market and any bad news by anyone is getting hammered just now. It's a time to keep the powder dry(ish!) and see what develops.
Patience or ease back in, methinks.

Simon,
BFC was briefly at Yahoo's price before falling away. Might be delayed prices at Yahoo?
