Please report bugs and enhancements (BUGS)

andy.lovell - 04 Nov 2002 11:26

If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!

Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.

The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.

This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)

If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

MIck,

There is a slight technical difficulty, please refresh a few times and this should clear it for you.

When I go onto a page anywhere I get a message "the operation timed out when trying to contact adserv2.moneyam.com"

It's a pain because I keep getting my browsing through MAM interrupted every time I refresh a page or click on a new page. Any ideas?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 10 Jan 2005 06:56 - 2954 of 7315

Seymour,

Do you have any kind of add blocking software on your PC? This may be causing your problem.

I'm suffering from the adserv2.moneyam.com timeout this morning as well - Firefox 1.0 on Mandrake Linux - oddly IE on Windows seems OK today. But I've had this problem before a number of times.

I have anti-spyware software on my IE boxes (but not on Linux) but as the problem goes away eventually (though it's annoying in the meantime), I doubt it's down to ad-blocking.

Seymour Clearly - 10 Jan 2005 07:25 - 2956 of 7315

Only the Windows XP firewall as well as the firewall router - nothing new though. Having said that, the problem doesn't seem to be there this morning!!! It's the small banner adverts on the grey strip at the top that were the problem - I didn't get any of that but all present and correct this morning. Thanks anyway...

Edit - also using Firefox 1.0 but on XP Home.

Guys,

I will ask Jonathan and see if he can shed any light on this.

Kyoto,

Can you please tell me which pages you are getting the error on? We moved all our adverts from adserv2.moneyam.com to another machine, but thought we had changed all the references. It appears that this isnt the case.

Cheers,
J.

Can't get rid of the stockwatch timeout problem with Firefox under Linux but I've switched to the Konqueror browser and it's OK with that. Probably if I try it with Firefox tomorrow - which is what I usually use, it'll be OK again.

Kyoto - 10 Jan 2005 07:36 - 2960 of 7315

J., http://www.moneyam.com/action/stockwatch/showStockWatch

But I have exactly the same page open now in Konqueror and there's no problem. Maybe it's some strange caching issue.

edit: and sure enough, I've done a full purge of the cache - and Linux Firefox is now loading fine without the timeout errors.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 10 Jan 2005 08:10 - 2961 of 7315

Kyoto,

Phew!

I couldn't see any problems here at all (and I'm running linux/firefox too) so was a little concerned.

It was changed on Friday... maybe you have a long cache set or something?

It's entirely possible... old habits from the 28.8K modem days die hard :-) I'll make sure I check this first next time. Sorry if I raised any alarm first thing on Monday morning!

Only just logged on this morning and cannot get any of my terminal views.
Please advise.

Photo,

When you say you cannot get any of your terminal views, what exactly happens?

Ian

Photomad - 10 Jan 2005 09:57 - 2965 of 7315

I have 5 terminal views showing on my terminal page but the lines showing each view is incomplete. Clicking on any one of them and I get a blank page coming up.

Photo,

Can you do a restart on your machine and see if this clears the problem?

Ian

Photomad - 10 Jan 2005 10:00 - 2967 of 7315

Photomad - 10 Jan 2005 10:23 - 2968 of 7315
