When could we expect the NICE news, we have all been waiting for?

squidd - 12 Dec 2005 21:41 - 296 of 1525

The NICE website advises that a Review of Existing Guidance, No 51, will be published in February 2006; no other detail that I can find.

nicksig - 05 Jan 2006 13:18 - 298 of 1525

I've noticed this too. 2 MM trades and a flurry of activity - has some kind of news leaked? Any one know anything?

nicksig - 05 Jan 2006 15:53 - 299 of 1525

Hmmm. And now 2x5m buys. Something is afoot. Any ideas what?

nicksig - 05 Jan 2006 19:16 - 300 of 1525

A very unusual day of trading: a buy of @210k and a late sell of @70k. The former suggested positive news of some sort - perhaps something related to the States (the NY trial?). It's been very quiet on this thread recently. Has anyone else been following this?

FerdFord - 08 Jan 2006 10:23 - 301 of 1525

nicksig - you need to learn about something called a "rollover" and how to identify one when it happens. For example the "2x5m buys" was actually a rollover when somebody sold 5m shares then bought them back immediately afterwards for slightly more (or vice versa if the trader was short). Because this is a "special deal" done with the market makers the normal spread does not apply so both trades may be identified as buys or both as sells.

A rollover does NOT mean something is afoot. It means an individual trader is expecting the share price to move in a matter of weeks.

nicksig - 08 Jan 2006 12:16 - 302 of 1525

Thanks for this. I'll look further into it. Is it possible judge from this which way that trader thinks the price will move?

nicksig - 08 Jan 2006 12:47 - 303 of 1525

Hi again. I have found the following definition of a rollover:

to transfer a trade that is near its expiry date to the next expiry date. Rolling over is a facility offered by a spreadbetting firm to those clients whose financial positions are due to expire within a short time and want to roll them into the next contract month. Normally clients can roll positions from the expiring contract to the next contract month for a reduced spread.

Is there more to it than this? So in this case the trader would sell for .0209 and buy again for .021 to rollover to the next expiry date? If so, this is surely a sign of confidence. Originally I had assumed this was institutional money as it seemed a lot to play with in a company as small as ULT.

FerdFord - 09 Jan 2006 13:01 - 304 of 1525

That is basically correct. You can also rollover an extended settlement trade if your broker will permit this. But a rollover can also be made on a short position so it isn't necessarily a sign of confidence. And an even greater sign of confidence it to actually buy the shares!!!

grandadg90 - 09 Jan 2006 14:30 - 305 of 1525

What do people think of the activity today.
With regards to the volume and then the announcement.

WOODIE - 09 Jan 2006 15:50 - 306 of 1525

grandadg dont read to much into the s/price movement today over the last 2 years each time they issue an rns re conv stock the price drops each time within a couple of days it recovers.

jameel06 - 09 Jan 2006 16:06 - 307 of 1525

woodie, i hope your right. but i will have to be patient rather than to cut my losses now

jameel06 - 09 Jan 2006 16:46 - 308 of 1525

woodie, recent rns that the chariman has raised his stake, what u think?

WOODIE - 09 Jan 2006 16:48 - 309 of 1525

j what price did you buy at, if under 3p you will be in profit when the revenues start to hit the bottom line.dyor

jameel06 - 09 Jan 2006 16:51 - 310 of 1525

woodie, at 2.00p, wats your views re. the recent rns re. Chairman's stake!! Will that impact it??

WOODIE - 09 Jan 2006 16:58 - 311 of 1525

j this is old news from a few years back market already knew what is holding is these were not brought recently ,hence why the was no rise in s/price if he had brought these in the market the s/p would have been a lot stronger.

jameel06 - 09 Jan 2006 17:11 - 312 of 1525

ok! I better not be a smarty pant! cheers

A statement from Nigel Brabbins on the 12th January 2006:-

Ultrasis CEO, Nigel Brabbins, in his address to the shareholders made the following points:

I have high regard for Ultrasis employees, whom I have found to be extremely capable, loyal and committed and I thank them for their support in my first 4 months in office.
I am convinced of the high quality of the product range, in particular the flagship Beating the Blues and believe Ultrasis has great potential and an exciting future ahead of it.
I am thoroughly looking forward to taking the business forward and creating significant value for shareholders.
I believe 2005 has been a positive year of development for Ultrasis and I thank Graham Lewis (ex CEO) for his efforts and would highlight three points of note 1) the appointment of an extremely competent Director of Sales, John Smith, 2) raising 750k in a placing to support Sales and Marketing activity and 3) presiding over an increase in market capitalisation from 4.2m (Sept 04) to above 27m.
I can confirm the appointment in the preceding 3 months of 3 sales managers taking the sales team up to 5 to capitalise on current commercial activity and in anticipation of the NICE recommendation.
The expected announcement date for NICE on Beating the Blues is February and that this would recommend that Beating the Blues be offered to all patients presenting with mild and moderate depression.
I am developing a strategy to communicate more fully with the wider NHS, including trade journals and GP web sites and exploring other opportunities to promote awareness of Beating the Blues and other Ultrasis CBT products.
I can confirm that sales and costs year to date are in line with internal budget expectations.
Development of the Web enabled Beating the Blues product is progressing well, although we should be cautious, in that the availability of this will not necessarily result in an immediate and significant impact on sales. It will however, provide total flexibility in the provision of Beating the Blues, to match that of all other Ultrasis products.
I can confirm that details on the partnership with HealthMedia Inc are complete and both companies have agreed their promotional activities and revenue targets for this year. Whilst this is a non exclusive arrangement I hope it will prove commercially beneficial for both parties.
My thoughts on future strategy centre around 3 main areas:
We will look to broaden the market for Beating the Blues and other Ultrasis products beyond clinical, in to corporates, higher education, public sector and high stress environments, where we know levels of absenteeism due to stress, are high.

We will also explore areas for adding value to our products by shifting towards a service rather than product led business through the provision of complimentary services.

We will look to broaden our product range within interactive, multi media delivered CBT, subject of course to rigorous commercial assessment.

Ultrasis aims to become a provider of healthcare services and will continue to develop organically as well as looking to partnerships, JVs and acquisitions to achieve this aim.
