Controversial Ukip MEP Godfrey Bloom attended an event at the Ukip conference in Westminster on Friday that was designed to promote the advancement of women in politics. And called them all "sluts".

After two senior female Ukip members joked that they did not clean behind the fridge, as Bloom said it was where women belonged, he joyfully shouted: "This place is full of sluts."

After calling Sky News' Dan Mccaffrey a "sad little man", Bloom took off down the street pursued by reporters. He then hit Channel 4's Michael Crick over the head with a Ukip conference book and called him a "racist", before jumping into a taxi to make his escape.

Bloom has previously said that small firms should be allowed to sack women who get pregnant. He was also the one who complained about the UK giving aid to bongobongo land.

The YouGov poll for The Sun shows that the Tories are now leading among younger voters with 34 per cent of under-25s backing them, against 32 per cent for Labour.


The Tories lead with 37 to 31 among the over-60s. But Labour still has a narrow lead among other voters.
