Labour are going to make a monumental cock up of their conference this week. The unions have already said they won't play ball with his reforms. He will finish the week looking even weaker than he started it.

Doesnt matter the polls are going in labours favour.

Eurozone tensions bubble as Merkel storms to victory

Eurozone tensions are simmering as the bloc faces four more years of tough austerity under the leadership of conservative Chancellor Angela Merkel.

German exit polls on Sunday evening indicated that Mrs Merkel’s conservative bloc won 42pc of the vote and may be on course to win an historic absolute majority. A projection by broadcaster ARD put Merkel’s conservatives on 42.5pc, just over the combined total for the left parties who together scored 41.6pc.

Mats Persson, director of think tank Open Europe, said the result reflected "a validation of [Merkel's} eurozone policy" and the bloc should expect "more of the same".

Support for the centre-left Social Democrats stood at 26pc, with the environmentalist Greens and far-left party each securing around 8pc of the vote. But Mrs Merkel’s current partners, the Free Democratic Party, risk losing their Bundestag seats as their share teeters on the 5pc threshold.

German voters also displayed rising levels of anti-euro sentiment after a new eurosceptic party, the Alternative for Germany, looked to have come within a whisker of entering parliament, with an exit poll reading of 4.9pc.

Even if Mrs Merkel is forced to form a so-called 'grand coalition’ with her leftist rivals, a major shift from her dogged defence of German interests seems unlikely.

What I think the thread needs is a fear index regarding the next election.

I would think a crude indicator could be the number of posting Dreams and Hays make.

Of course it could also be measured by the number of inane remarks Manuel makes.===


But it is interesting to see the tory machine putting in the dogs and hyenas to scavenge, smear and ridicule when their fears are aroused. The stunted behaviour of boys and girls sent away from their mummies to gather like pack animals in various institutions.

I must see if I can somebody to examine this behaviour.

NHS fails to meet A&E waiting time targets

NEARLY 40 per cent of NHS ­foundation trusts are breaching national A&E waiting time targets, new figures reveal.

Data from the hospital regulator Monitor shows twice as many of the 145 foundation trusts missed targets to see patients within four hours this year compared with the same period last year.

It found 38 per cent of trusts missed the four-hour target compared with 16 per cent last year. Health officials fear ­winter pressures will push emergency departments into collapse.

Monitor also uncovered record levels of debt among foundation trusts: 48 are in deficit compared with 36 last year, with an overall debt of £74million.

The report found trusts were struggling to deliver efficiency ­savings due to increased demand for services. They made 20 per cent less savings than they planned for this year.

Jason Dorsett, financial risk and reporting director at Monitor, said: “Our analysis shows patients are still waiting too long at A&Es in a number of foundation trusts.

“The increased demand has also prevented trusts from delivering their planned financial savings.

“We expect to see trusts planning now for how the increased demand will impact on their finances, so they are not storing up trouble for the future.”

The NHS is not safe in the Torys grubby hands.
