Just no news yet. Nigeria are an hour ahead of us, so shouldn't be long now! Rumour was that they would ask for a seven day extension to the deadline.

It seems that any extension must be applied for by AFR?

i am very puzzled (and thick), but of you look at today's news for AFR there are some very odd tradings from morgan stanley
anyone understand them, or are they pretty irrelevant?

As I mentioned in post #2893, these trades have been going on for some while Cynic. They are TRP's, but I don't quite understand how they fit into the day's trading figures.

[TRP's: A swap agreement in which one party makes payments based on a set rate, either fixed or variable, while the other party makes payments based on the return of an underlying asset, which includes both the income it generates and any capital gains. In total return swaps, the underlying asset, referred to as the reference asset, is usually an equity index, loans, or bonds. This is owned by the party receiving the set rate payment.

Total return swaps allow the party receiving the total return to gain exposure and benefit from a reference asset without actually having to own it. These swaps are popular with hedge funds because they get the benefit of a large exposure with a minimal cash outlay.]

A drop won't last...it might be good for shorters if they are quick or have an order (mighty risky...)....and then the climb back should resume....

Well it means they are considering bidding....I think that there might be another bidder that might emerge.....so as long as we are patient...in the long run it might pay dividends...
