If you're having any problems, or want to suggest some improvements, please post below!
Level2 changes
In the last few weeks we've needed to implement some code changes to make us compliant with the LSE's rules on the access of Level2 data.
The following requirement is now in place:
You can only use 1 program on 1 computer to access Level2 on MoneyAM using a single username.
This means that you are able to view as many Level2 windows using any one particular browser, or program, that you wish, however you will not be able to use both Firefox and Internet Explorer at the same time (the same goes for using Quote Tracker or TradeSeeker at the same time as viewing it using a web browser)
If you find you're being logged off of MoneyAM's Level2 with the message 'you've logged on from another location' then check the above and make sure you're not running any other programs at the same time before reporting this as a bug.

See the Release Notes for Milestone 5 thread for the list of supported features, and the functionality to be implemented in future releases.

Hi,
A few responses to the release notes posted on the BB:
> 4. Upon opening a thread, only show new posts. If a thread is an
> unread thread, only show the first 30 posts, then add a "More",
> "Recent", and "All messages" button to the page. If the thread has

I think there should be a limit on the max number of posts that can be downloaded. There were issues with ADVFN, if there were more than about 500 posts in a thread, in that one apache process would be running for a loooong time while 500+ posts worth of data was shifted down a 56k modem...

I think it should only email out a new password to the registered email account, and not any that is typed in. Im hoping that this is what is meant, else hijacking other accounts will be very easy.

If they dont want that information displayed, then they dont enter it?
I think the email address should have a check box allowing them to withhold it from being shown, this way, we still have email addresses on account for all users. Alternativly, another box for an email to be entered into (not required) which is displayed.
This information is only shown if you are logged in, right?
> When the thread list is viewed by an administrator (security level
> above 50), the administrator is able to delete one or more threads.
Also, what about the ability to bless (bring to the top), curse (stop them rising to the top even if they are posted to) if this is wanted (Mike, comments?)
> 10. Allow the user to filter out posts from other users. This may be

What sort of performance hit will there be if there are many users on a blocked list?
> 19. Moderation -- Be able to ban someone by IP address.
This should be a very restricted service, preferably only available to MikeB and myself (MikeB to use it after talks with me)
If someone blocks a web cache, or trans proxy, we could block access to many many users.
How do the administration levels work? (or is it just 1, 'Admin' for example?) Would it be possible to manually add and revoke individual rights from individual admins? (could possibly mean that very trusted members, in the future can monitor the bulletin board for us, for example)

velocide,
Some good points raised there.
The priority on the BB is to complete the functionality (e.g. EPIC code, sorting etc), and then we need to agree what is important to implement for the launch release. Some features may be marked for future upgrades (blessing and cursing?).

1)Maybe change word from Thread to TOPIC ie 'add new TOPIC' rather than 'add thread' and likewise change thread to topic wherever it appears
2)This needs to be made larger font

Under the 'user settings'on this BB all fields should default to blank and the user should enter the information if they want it displayed.

Just thinking again about the ability for people to 'see' but not post. I think if they are not qualified to 'post' they should only see the 'thread' or 'topic' titles not be able to see the content.
