A poster by the name of Ravey Davy Gray started a thread last year on penny share X trades, the following is a copy and paste job from the thread:
"A very large % cross trade is showing that a large seller that would normally create a large overhang by drip feeding stock for weeks/months and forcing the price lower has found a buyer, usually the broker will put out feelers to see if anybody is interested in buying this stock, if they find a buyer the price arranged tends to be the middle price, this is a double confidence boost for the shares, the overhang or potential overhang is eliminated whilst it shows that a new large buyer has bought in and could be more privy to a recovery in the stock, overhangs are usually formed from a stale seller who just wants out of the stock at any cost, when a institution decides to sell they dont change their mind, they drip the stock until they sell everything and the stock quickly recovers when they have sold up, lots of large cross trades is a signal that overhangs are about to be cleared."
Interestingly, I spotted a large X trade in Ennstone (ENN) last Dec, note the rise in the SP the following few months.

Clubman,
According to the theory, one lump of shares is being taken up by another party and you should see something of a recovery in the near future. That's the thoery.
