In the US last night, the Dow finished down 200.38 at 18,128.66 the Nasdaq down 81.89 at 5,246.79 and the S&P 500 down 26.93 at 2,136.73.

In Asia, the Nikkei was recently down 142.89 points at 16,881.87 - the Hang Seng down 257.04 at 23,292.48.

WTI crude oil traded at $50.79 a barrel and Brent at $52.41.

Gold settled at $1,253.00 an ounce.
