Independent Media Distribution - A Growth Stock ? (IMD)

Prophet - 18 Mar 2003 18:36

A potential growth stock ? Company is already profitable and debt free. They provide digital audio and video content to radio stations and tv stations. They appear ideally poised to take advantage of both digital radio advertising and digital tv content such as music videos. They have a fast and comprehensive digital distribution network so a new pop song can be didgitally sent to all radio stations with a press of a button. No more Cd's and videos by courier service.

Liquidity and spread are the only short term problems but the shares look good value. IMHO Any thoughts appreciated?

intellexis

saw this one recommended in Shares as an add--as I had none i decided to go with it.

its been a bit volatile but at less than one quarter a penny per share then what is to be expected.

i am drawn to "maiden profit" reports shortly after year end, new management and new contracts and several very attarctive share options for directors but not exercisable for another 4/5 years-- in other words they can make an absolute fortune on the options but only if the company performs.i.e they perform also. a bit worried that at least one director has been involved with failed companies in the past but.....................

i have bought enough not to make me worry if there is a downside but I am buying in now for a potential massive gain in say 6/9 months time: after all a rise to a penny makes 400% gain.

Prophet - 28 Jul 2003 17:45 - 4 of 46

IMD up another 5% today.

Prophet - 31 Jul 2003 17:24 - 5 of 46

IMD up another 10% today. Stock gradually getting noticed.

Prophet - 14 Aug 2003 17:29 - 6 of 46

IMD continuing to rise (55% in 4 months). Nobody interested in discussing real growth stocks? This one is great. Money in the bank, no debt and loads of upside. You watch it move over the the next 2 years.

Prophet - 20 Aug 2003 17:55 - 7 of 46

Well up again by 13%. I know I'm talking to myself in here but since I started the thread on th 18th March I have made 78% on these. Somebody somewhere is buying!

Prophet - 03 Sep 2003 08:10 - 8 of 46

A great set of interims which conitue to deliver on the growth story. Once we get into the televsion market in a bigger way this will really take off. Well done IMD. IMHO

Hi Prophet

They say you should never fall in love with a share, but been with this one from the start and toped up when I could afford it. There seems to be so much upside on this one. You have Mr C Dunstone on board with 11% of the company, cant be bad for starters, and make about 34% net profit from turnover cant be bad. This is a great growth stock, which IMOP has a long long way to go.

See there is sombody else here, try ADVFN Board its not bad there is quite a few people on that one

Regards

Every pundit is searching the lists for stocks which will, ultimately, benefit from the upsurge in TV and Radio advertizing. Well, here's one that is telling you NOW that it has benfited. Issued @40p in Feb 02 it has but one competitor in its field. Insinger Townsley, the placing house, seem to believe that it has growth potential and have, I believe, just been recommending it to their clientele. The sophistication of the UK TV and Radio market ensures a ready acceptance of IMD technology - but this leaves Europe, where IMD has a presence.
This one might well test the 100p level withing months.

Prophet - 02 Jan 2004 23:28 - 11 of 46

Well the story is unfolding very nicely. Up over 140% since March and still set to fly high.

bigtimeboy - 03 Jan 2004 02:02 - 12 of 46

Quite pleased with only a 2.5p drop yesterday, more buys than sells, funny old game Isnt it. Ready for a rollercoaster ride next week, stock very illiquid.

Regards btb

Hi all

Dont know if anyone has noticed that IMD has all ready started delivering adverts to the TV networks, just checkout the site. The results should be good come the end of the month. They seemed to have kept it very quite. Here are the links.

The price is still heading north and loads more upside to come. IMHO

Prophet - 22 Feb 2004 18:28 - 15 of 46

Looking forward to the results on Friday. Every chance that IMD will rise sharply once the news update is absorbed by the market. I expect the results and outlook to be very good. IMHO

Prophet - 24 Feb 2004 23:25 - 16 of 46

MM's moving the price lower on no volume? Are they looking to get some stock by Friday? This one is tightly held and the results should ensure that remains so.

hilldee - 25 Feb 2004 09:49 - 17 of 46

look at the trades.Insinger Townsley is a buyer BUT there is a BIG seller

Prophet - 27 Feb 2004 07:19 - 18 of 46

Well the results are out and they are very good. This is a fantastic story that will get better and better.

Pete Adams - 27 Feb 2004 11:09 - 19 of 46

IMD looks like a great growth stock with very little downside risk.
Todays results show Pre Tax profits up 46%, Earnings per Share up 43%, Sales up 27%, a rising dividend, no debt and a cash pile. Also director Charles Dunston (boss of Carphone Warehouse) bought 520,000 worth of shares in nov 2003.
With expansion into TV broadcast services in its early stages, with an encouraging start, this looks like a good time to buy - before the major institutions latch onto the story.

Pete Adams - 02 Mar 2004 15:58 - 20 of 46

Chairman David Haynes said that over the next 6 weeks, now that successful trials have completed, IMD will be rolling out its digital network service into all TV systems. This is for broadcast quality advertising and music video. This is a major milestone for the company.

This should generate a lot of interest if it takes off. If it fails, there is still the profitable radio business to fall back on.

The shares have been in a strong uptrend since last june, going from 30p to 75p.

See www.imdonline.co.uk for more details.

Prophet - 04 Mar 2004 09:30 - 21 of 46

A move back up yesterday was to be expected. This share still looks great for the year ahead. I was listening to a contributor on Bloomberg TV this morning commenting on the UK economy going forward. He was citing the sharp growth in radio advertising as a key indicator of the improving economic situation. I really can't see why the platform should not work as well on TV. IMHO

Pete Adams - 04 Mar 2004 10:03 - 22 of 46

Prophet,
Another good omen for this company is its sector performance. The 'Media and Entertainment' sector has outperformed the FTSE100 by 50% over the past year. This is due to TV and radio companies increasing their profits once again after a long slump. More money to spend on advertising and hopefully thru IMD!
