News Headlines:

Cisco Systems fell roughly 2.5 percent despite third-quarter profit that topped analysts' expectations. But the company said sales in the fourth quarter should be flat sequentially, a forecast that was shy of analysts' current expectations.  This led to a change of sentiment and US indices lost early gains despite strong gains by Coca-Cola on an analyst upgrade

a snippet from the Times re BAY's competition

Uneasy flight

A DISSATISFIED customer of easyJet has used the occasion of the companys 48 million loss to blow a raspberry at the cheap carriers level of service. Mike Webb set up www.easyjet-sucks.org ten days ago after he claimed he and his family had a bad experience on a trip to Spain, inviting other travellers to vote on the simple proposition Does easyJet suck?

As of yesterday the suck-o-meter, or mini-poll, indicated two thirds of the 708 people voting agreeing with the proposition. EasyJet, which normally pounces hard on anything bearing the easy name, is relaxed about the website. We respect the individuals right of freedom of speech, says one source.

NTLS reputation for customer service has, how should I put it, not been too great in the past, especially at its call centres. Both I and, to be fair, the company itself are baffled by the experience of one reader who put his request in writing. After several letters were apparently ignored, he telephoned to ask why. We dont reply to letters, were a communications company, was the response.
