Well, after a drop of 13%, zoo holds on with a 9% gain today. The question is, when is the next big news due? It took around 2 months to surge from 8.5 to 17+ so will we have to wait that long again?

Well it seems to me that on Tuesday they are going to issue more shares totalling 10% of the current number of shares. I presume it means we can expect a roughly 10% drop in the value of our existing holdings in the short term which, in fact, is about what we've seen today.
Shouldn't make any significant difference to the longer term prospects which will be dependent on good operational news and, eventually, profitability.
I just hope they don't keep making new issues the way GXN have been.

Thanx dclinton. The shares have not been issued yet so does that mean a further 10% drop next week!

I think the calculation is a little wrong, issuing a little over 2million shares to give a total of 224million shares is not an issuance of 10%.
It is a lot less. The drop probably has more to do with the meteoric rise, traders and the top-slicing of holdings by some of the institutions.
It is however likely that at some point next year they will raise more capital, by issuing more shares.

yngam - you're right. 222m shares in circulation already. Issue is only about 1%.
The drop is simply bringing the price back down into the three and six-month trading ranges. Looking at the charts a similar peak happened in May and then it settled back in the same way.
azhar - it seems to me that the market largely factors these things into the price when announced. Otherwise if people knew there were a dilution coming the opportunity for arbitrage would be too great. I might expect a second drop of some kind at the time of the issue as people who missed the first news figured out what was going on. However, it's all academic in this case as I got the wrong figure for the number of shares in circulation. Remember, DYOR and don't rely on others to read the numbers correctly :-)

ZOO Digital Group plc ('the Company')
Immediate Release 12 December 2003
Result of Extraordinary General Meeting ('EGM')
The Company is pleased to announce that at its EGM held today, the resolutions
put to shareholders were duly passed. As a result, the placing detailed in the
circular dated 19 November 2003 has been completed, subject only to admission of
the new ordinary shares to trading on the Alternative Investment Market of the
London Stock Exchange. Dealings are expected to commence on 17 December 2003.
Ian Stewart, chief executive officer of ZOO Digital, commented:
'I am delighted by the support from investors during the fundraising for what is
a very exciting opportunity in the fast growing DVD market. We can now look
forward to establishing commercial teams in the United States and Europe and to
launching our first DVD Software product, DVD-Extra Studio, in North America
during April 2004 with a professional infrastructure to support key customers.
Through working closely with key companies in the Film and Video, Multimedia,
Corporate and Educational sectors on our Early Adopter program we have clearly
established that our tools allow customers to create complex interactive
DVD-Video content far more quickly, more reliably and more cost effectively.
Indeed it is now also possible to create interactive content for use on standard
DVD players that was previously not commercially feasible to create.
The funds raised put us in an excellent position to exploit our unique
technology worldwide over the next 3 years.'
