Certainly not the pits! (PIT)

JRM - 04 Mar 2004 09:49

Pilkington's Tiles are being overlooked in my opinion.

I know a couple of property developers who have been looking at the Manchester and Poole sites. They're gold mines and longer they leave it the more we will get! (I hope!)

The business is a dog but their homes are fab, any thoughts?

I've had a few of these for a while and I'm waiting for an upturn. Any chance?

Price up slightly but no buys. What do the market makers know?

The results should be coming with NAV updates

Any thoughts?

JRM,

I live in Poole, and was recently in the Planning Dept., and I saw a picture of the development area that PIT have their site in, and it is VERY impressive!

UNLESS the property market tanks (I think it WILL, but in due course) this site is worth more than the company! I have seen amounts up to 12 million as valuations of their harbourside site, although they were just speculation, and it could easily be more or less.

PIT can easily move their production facilities to a new purpose built site, and bank the difference, IMHO.

I watch with interest!

JRM,

A picture of the proposed development is pasted below.

pb_poole.jpg

The existing bridge is lower right, and the development area is to the left of this, on both sides of the harbour, until it reaches the propsed new bridge on the middle left of the picture.

The Pilkington Tile factory (PIT) is located left of the old bridge (lower right), southside of the harbour, after the boatyard immediately beside it, moving towards the new bridge.

hope this helps.

JRM - 26 Apr 2004 14:44 - 9 of 20

I think the spread is excessive here -any thoughts?

JRM - 27 Apr 2004 15:17 - 10 of 20

When will the results come?

JRM - 28 Apr 2004 14:30 - 11 of 20

They've also a 20 acre site in Manchester and a quary in southern England!

Andy - 28 Apr 2004 17:38 - 12 of 20

jrm,

Where's the quarry please?

JRM - 29 Apr 2004 13:12 - 13 of 20

I think it's close to Poole. The Company Secretary mentioned it when I spoke to him earlier this week

JRM - 30 Apr 2004 09:47 - 14 of 20

I walked around the Manchester site yesterday.

It's caught between a residential area and a river. A potential brownfield site if I ever so one and there are 20 acres!

Come on talk or buy!

JRM - 03 Jun 2004 11:37 - 16 of 20

The results were very interesting, especially their desire to return shareholder value!

Any thoughts?

Been in on this since 3p JBM and very nice it is too...
Not to worried, somebody wants the line it is in a prime location. There have been moves to aquire the land in the past but now the doors are open and alloffers are being taken. The question is how much will they pay as there is more than one interested party. That bodes well for the sjareprice. Also noticed Mr O'Rielly has bought a large chunk, this is the same Mr O who has been buying chunks of ADVFN and On-Line pre results think he has the view of takeover bids etc in the coming years. The fact that he has bought a large chunk of PIT bodes well, I think he visited the site and may have contacts and know somebody who is interested etc. Gonna be an interesting week this week.
