Goldfinger...Calling Goldfinger (ZOO)

citygent - 18 Mar 2004 11:35

Goldfinger,

I need to pick ur brains with regards to ZOO.Like urself I'm a staunch supporter of the stock and I believe after the laucnh of DVD-EXtra at NAB in LA the orders should roll in and the stock should take off. But, the share price is currently sitting at 8, with the buy price at 8.5. My interest currently averaging at around 10, do you think I should go back in and buy more at 8.5 or will the price go down further ?

ZOO set for major market breakthrough in Japan

Article: The DVD-EXTRA STUDIO system, which creates highly interactive discs, is due to be launched at an international exhibition in Las Vegas next month, after more than two years' development work by the ZOO Digital Group.
And this week the company secured a key foothold during a trade mission to Japan, the third largest market in the world for high-tech products.

ZOO believes the software, which is being produced by new subsidiary company ZOOtech, is the first to fully exploit the potential of consumer DVD-Video players. And Japan is a key target.

Chief Technical Officer Stuart Green has just returned from a second trade mission to Japan organised and hosted by the South Yorkshire International Trade Centre (SYITC).

The first, held last September, allowed ZOOtech to collaborate with major DVD player manufacturers including Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba to ensure that the software would be fully compatible with their equipment.

Last week Stuart returned to find an agent who will represent ZOOtech, selling DVD-EXTRA STUDIO in Japan under licence. In a series of meetings organised by SYITC, he met representatives from 18 companies.

"A large number of them are very interested in working with us and will be fully evaluating our software," he said.

ZOO was one of 13 companies from across England to attend the week-long trade mission aimed at developing trading links with Japan. They ranged from a machine knives manufacturer to a supplier of building materials and a sweet manufacturer. Stuart said: "In all respects, SYITC have been very helpful - in identifying companies, then making contacts and setting up appointments. There is no way I would have been able to meet 18 different companies in a week without their help."

Mission leader Shaun Warren, International Trade Team Manager at SYTIC, said the trip had been a success for the companies taking part.

"Several delegates were able to build on existing relationships with trading partners, while others have come away with new business. Personal contact is extremely important with Japanese companies in particular, and the mission - which will be repeated again next year - is an effective means of achieving that."
