SELFTRADE

piston broke - 02 Jul 2004 12:41

Any of you guys got any experience of this organisation.I finally lost confidence in them managing my portfolio and have moved elsewhere after several issues. Similarly an office colleague feels the same. Do any of you guys feel the same or have we just been unlucky, and any other on line traders that you recommend...rgds...piston broke

I also have had problems with this outfit.
OK so they keep saying you can have your next trade free, however the net result was their bad management of my account cost me far more than the free trades they offered.

wilbs - 03 Jul 2004 12:14 - 4 of 15

Free trades? I got nothing, not even an appoligy.Glad im out of it. So what broker did you change to buckets?

rpaco - 05 Jul 2004 11:29 - 5 of 15

I lost confidence in them after they changed ownership. They debited my bank a/c instead od crediting it and took another month of increasingly irate emails to get them to rectify it. I left them in Autumn 2003 and transferredt to Comdirect who are much better. Selftrade are still asking me for inactivity fees on the account which was closed 9 months ago.

The CTC they sent was wrong and included ISA stocks.

Also Selftrade have a very annoying stop and limit order system. You can only place a stop OR a limit sell, but not both on a stock. And if you place a limit or stop buy that ties up your cash. Comdirect is much much better. (Just their stop and limit execution hours that annoy me, and the fact that they only open durung Stock exchange hours when Covered Warrants whichI trade have market hours from 08:00 to 17:15 Guess when the best time to trade is? (or would be))

My advice from experience is DON'T TOUCH SELFTRADE WITH A BARGEPOLE (or anything even longer)

Seems their on-line trading is "off" this morning.

Would expect these things to be much more reliable by now.

If I've said it once I've said it a hundred times, Selftrade are "relatively" not as reliable as some other Brokers.

Just checked my Barclay's A/c and it's working fine.

The Other Kevin - 20 May 2011 12:57 - 8 of 15

Selftrade seems to be working OK for me

martinl2 - 20 May 2011 13:06 - 9 of 15

Working fine for me as well.

Unable to get even as far as the login page all day today. Spoken to Selftrade. A rather curt, tired sounding, operative did admit that the problem was at "their" end, and concerned users on certain ISPs. "Has been passed to IT". A strange one.

They couldn't even be bothered to put an item on their home page about it.

Ho hum.

55011 - 22 Feb 2012 09:37 - 11 of 15

Second time in three days, Selftrade login page cannot be shown again today.

Are they trying to "do a Ratner"? Too many customers?

Fred1new - 22 Feb 2012 18:20 - 12 of 15

55,

Where have you been?

Is Brum a no go area?

55011 - 22 Feb 2012 19:18 - 13 of 15

Kicking against the pricks, it seems.

55011 - 22 Feb 2012 19:19 - 14 of 15

How are you doing anyway?

Fred1new - 22 Feb 2012 19:47 - 15 of 15

Surviving.

I think.

May have a meet up in March.

Keep out of trouble.

Stan creates enough for both of us.
