Karl(MoneyAM) - 20 Aug 2004 10:53

Dear all,

We are currently developing a new Data Download tool and are looking for testers. On release, this will be for 'Active' and above subscription levels.

If you are interested please click here.

Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Karl.

Karl

Although it is easy enough to convert a CSV file into Excel is it possible to have the data exported as an xls file? Otherwise this looks to be a great addition to the sites offerings!

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 21 Aug 2004 19:05 - 4 of 21

jasonwalt,

Microsoft's XLS file format is a closed format. This means that there is no documentation available for how to create it, and the other programs available that do it have done so on reverse engineered information.

As such, this will not be possible, sorry.

J.

You can download directly into Excel (ie: Open the file, don't Save it on the download), and then SaveAs with a XLS format file. Only takes a few seconds longer.

Cheers for the info BrianTrayda, tried it and worked great.

Many thanks.

Snappy,

Thanks for the heads-up about the High and low prices. I'll change them to the open price if they are zero.

I'll also add a sort option, so you can have it any which way you like :)

K.

Karl(MoneyAM) - 23 Aug 2004 16:09 - 8 of 21

The sort option has now been added.

I'll download another one tonight and take a look.

Karl(MoneyAM) - 25 Aug 2004 14:09 - 10 of 21

Quick update ...

The update time has to be moved back to 11pm for the moment. We tried it at 7pm yesterday but this caused problems in the portfolio. We are trying to find another way to get the data for you at an earlier time.

It would be a good idea to make sure that the present content is accurate before introducing any new. Perhaps I would be interested in trying the new out if the old was totally reliable at all times.

I don't suppose there is any chance of downloading currencies.

snoball - 14 Sep 2004 22:46 - 14 of 21

Obviously not!

IanT(MoneyAM) - 15 Sep 2004 07:20 - 15 of 21

Snoball,

In answer to your question, unfortunately not at this point in time.

Regards

Ian

I would like to be able to download intra-day prices, 15min intervals, for example.

In the from: to: section, you could add the required time gap between prices (15 mins, 1 day, 1 week, etc, with a maximum download expressed as the number of lines of data rather than 1 year, perhaps).

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2005 11:47 - 17 of 21

john,

I am not sure whether this is possible at the present time, but I will pass it onto our developers,

Ian

leslielipert - 12 Jul 2005 11:59 - 18 of 21

I would like to download my porfolios (more than 5 epics) end of day prices without any re typing. Can this be done?

IanT(MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2005 12:04 - 19 of 21

leslie,

At the moment no, but I will again pass this onto our developers.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 12 Jul 2005 12:16 - 20 of 21

johnmbradford,

Unfortunately the provision of intraday prices for download isn't something that we're going to be able to provide at this stage.

leslie, you can turn off streaming in your portfolio, highlight the prices section, paste into Notepad, and save. The resulting file can then be imported into spreadsheets etc. if you select 'begin new field on a space'.
