My first morning with a new PC I installed over the weekend and I'm not recieving Stockwatch, just a red cross. Any ideas please?

You can download and install java from:
http://java.sun.com/webapps/getjava/BrowserRedirect?locale=en&host=www.java.com:80

If you already have java, then you will want to amend any firewall settings you have to ensure that java applets are allowed to run.

How do I know if I have Java installed or not?
I am running Windows XP Pro for the first time and have disabled Firewall, Pop ups etc without success.

If you go to your program list you should have a separate folder for Java - if not you need to install.

Or just go to that link. If you are already up to date with your java, it won't re-install it.

Also having trouble getting stockwatch to run,using IE version 6 with windows 98se.Done all the usual,refreshed,cleared caches(temp int and java control panel)tried with firewall dissconneted but no luck?Thanks for any help

It isnt downloading the applet correctly.

Try holding the ctrl key while refreshing that page and see if it improves.

I went to the java link and downloaded - no problem - till I tried to log on to Money Am and it kept cutting me off and signing me out of MSN! Two hours later have uninstalled Java and back to working normally!
