Anyone with veiws on Aero-Engine maker Rolls Royce (RR)

aevansdj - 20 Oct 2004 17:05

I'm just wondering if anybody has any thoughts on this share. There has been quite a bit of investment lately (Building of new Facilities & Modernisation). Also the Company has a solid order book.

RR have a lot going for them long term. They are preferred engine makers for a lot of airlines, also their Trent engines look like being winners in power delivery for the new A380 "super-jumbo".

Aviation is a long game.

The competition is GE and Pratt and Whitney (United Technologies) of the US. But even here, alliances are being forged in some areas.

I'd put some of my pension money into RR.

As always, DYOR, and, heck, what do I know . . .

This share's looking good as it's risen 25p in a relatively short time.Tihs is on broker recommendations from Numis,Meryll Lynch & Credit Suisse.
I beleive it won't be long before we see them hitting 3 a share.
Another bonus is the signing of contracts with Airlines who want Rolls Royce total care. This is the refurbishment of exsisting engines in service. This is good business and where the company can make good money.
Another Trent engine is in the process of being developed.
