OAKDENE Share price going north (OKD)

Realistic - 15 Feb 2005 15:37

The sp has risen substantially over the last few days. Nigel Wray has increased his stake to over 8%.He has obviously got something in mind.Pressure on the board to sell of some of the land bank? Or a full blown takeover? You tell me please.

ethel - 15 Feb 2005 17:23 - 3 of 15

Tipped as takeover target,no idea who is interested, but Carl Turpin the CEO and co-founder now owns 16.19% and Nigel Wray has increased his share to 8.05%.The company has a mkt.cap.of 32.43mln.Today's price is about the IPO price. That was in July 2004.Seems too short a time to agree to being bought out...any ideas??

Oakdene has recently taken over Honeygrove HYG and their landbank was in the south east.Even with a slow property market the landbank must have been worth many millions.Perhaps that landbank was obtained at a discount to its full potential. We will find out more as the weeks go by, and should provide a reasonable return over the next 12 months.

yes
they piced up Honeygrove for a reaction of the right price (IMO)

certainly the Honeygrove shares had been trading at nearly double the price the directors considered fair and reasonable when approached by Oakdene

I exepct they all have good jobs within the new empire however

anotherxiii - 16 Feb 2005 11:21 - 6 of 15

that was
'picked up' and 'fraction' of course

apologies for mistakes

ethel - 16 Feb 2005 17:41 - 7 of 15

thankyou for that.Has anyone invested in NMD?Worth 17mln sterling...a lot of volume recently.Bid and offer price the same,180p on Dig.Look.What does this mean?Quite a nice dividend with this one.Sorry to distract, but I feel that the smaller builders are going to do better this year.

Undervalued and oversold. Buying at full offer price now. Time to get a few before they hit a again.

Nice to see people having to pay a premium today to buy the shares.

hlyeo98 - 01 Oct 2008 16:20 - 10 of 15

Oakdene shares have been massacred...now only 8p.

spitfire43 - 01 Oct 2008 17:41 - 11 of 15

Last time I look they were 25p, they have large debts , not a good place to be in todays markets. Can't see them lasting too long, the building market is even worse than we think.

hlyeo98 - 01 Oct 2008 17:49 - 12 of 15

I heard that Oakdene has breached its covenants and running out of cash very soon.

Thats correct they are using temporary bank facilities to keep going.

Doesn't sound good.

hangon - 02 Oct 2008 14:07 - 15 of 15

A few small investments totalinig 10k's have raised sp 14% - OK this is from a low, but if Banking Issues are true ( and why not?) then the sp is about to fall sub 10p . . . . .why would anyone buy "now" unless it's Directors (hoping to) secure their positions . . . . . but I dislike ( No-News) large swings, as they can operate the other way, just as quickly.

-Maybe anticipation that the "US Bank-recovery" will be starting soon, now their Elections are in view!
