Desire Petroleum contracted Fugro Geoteam-A/S
in late January 2004 to start a 3D seismic survey in the acreage licensed to them in the North Falkland Basin. The Geo Pacific survey vessel is expected to take several months to complete the data acquisition and made a port call at Stanley
together with her support vessel Thor Supporter in
mid February.

Directors of Desire Petroleum comment:
Following on from the results of the initial drilling,
a new geological model has been developed which
has identified the areas within the Basin, and
below the source rock, most likely to contain
substantial reservoir rocks and traps for oil. As a
consequence, Desire has designed a 3D-seismic
survey. The new geological model has
concentrated on identifying potential reservoirs and
structures below and adjacent to the source rock
and has identified a number of major prospects
along the Basin margins. At least three of these
prospects have the potential to contain recoverable
reserves of one billion barrels of oil should suitable
reservoir rocks be present. The geological model
predicts the presence of suitable reservoirs and it
is the purpose of the 3D-seismic survey to define
them as precisely as possible prior to the next
drilling campaign.

convention help in Houston between 4 and 6
February.
Dr Phil Richards and colleague, Derek
Ritichie from BGS displayed data for viewing by oil
company exploration managers and the data
attracted considerable interest. Meetings with
companies were also arranged during the
convention. Houston, being the centre of the
American oil industry, did not disappoint, and
contact was made with licensees and companies
already considering investing in the area.

Phil Richards particularly highlighted opportunities
in open acreage to the north of the area drilled in
1998 when live oil and gas were found in two of
the six exploration wells drilled that year.
Attendance at the convention by FIGs consultants
is the first in a series of marketing exercises
planned this year and will be followed by exhibiting
at the AAPG convention in Dallas in April.

Desire Petroleum knows no reason for share price rise

LONDON (AFX) - Desire Petroleum PLC said it has noted recent press
speculation but knows no reason for the rise in the price of the company's
shares.
'Work on the fast track processing of the 3D seismic data is
progressing to plan and it is expected that detailed interpretation of the data
will begin shortly,' the company.
Earlier, Desire continued to make headway, with some traders talking of a
major oil find and others suggesting that the company is in talks with some big
oil industry names about farming out its licences in the Falklands.
