We're Off Jaque! (JQV)

JRM - 20 Feb 2004 10:46

Jacque Vert are a favourite of mine. I've bought on each downturn and collected some nice profits in the past.

With some amazing assets and brandnames, bought for shares last year, the smart boys are now ready for action. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a takeover before the finals, people are now moving in.

Should I buy more?

Pond Life - 14 Jun 2004 20:57 - 30 of 67

Brockman - er... or brockwoman!
Thanks for the posting, you seem to agree with my wife. Any views on the other brands in the JQV stable such as Planet, Windsmoor and Precis? My beloved thinks that they are all past it. Whenever I go to the shops (Debenhams) I always have a look at their offerings and I have never spotted a customer yet. Where's your factory unit? Is it worth a visit for some cheap designer togs?

Pond Life.

brockman - 16 Jun 2004 12:07 - 31 of 67

Ah, well you won't see the customers at the Windsmoor and Petite Precis sections in Debenhams, the gran's who are selecting from Windsmoor have shrunk by a foot, slow moving and are huddled over their zimmers, not easy to spot when walking the gangway through. The Petite Precis section may or may not be full of dwarfs, you will have to crawl the racks on your knees for better research ;o)

I do like Planet, they get it some of the time, however there is always rakes of it shipped to Ashfords McCarthur Glen factory unit. No one I know buys this stuff at their shops anymore, they don't seem to realize how much is "pisses a girl off" when they buy something and then see it two weeks later half price at the outlet.

The outlets I know are down here in Kent, we have the McCarthur Glen in Ashford and DeBradlei Wharf in Dover.

Where have you all come from?

A top knob from Argus will shake things up and the price is already heading north.

Come on!

brockman - 26 Jun 2004 00:52 - 33 of 67

JRM, We come from the outlet centre!!
Argus, Argoos, that will take care of it, unless u wanna wear it!
Come on! ;o)

Burning the midnight oil Brocks?
Good week for JQV. Results are still almost a month away and the shares are heading north with a purpose. Volume has also increased. Has the market finally woken up to the improved prospects for the company? Our startlingly young new management team (in comparison) could yet make an impression on this dated rag trader and lead us all to the promised land.
Still on a current year forecast PE of just 4! 20p next stop ahead of results, fully valued at around 30p but could take time to go this extra mile.
Dream on!

Yes, sorry Mr Pond Life, i didn't bother looking at the share price ;o(
Glad its turning around. I have used the thread as a source of light entertainment, but hey, that does bring it to the top everytime ;o) Cheering from now on, Brocks ;o)

Tend to prefer Slimma but you never know, will put JQV on my watch list.
Put some Graphs up on your header JRM please

Pond Life - 28 Jun 2004 20:43 - 37 of 67

Another tick up today. Hey - I'll be in profit in another week if this keeps up. The MMs are definately taking this one for a walk north. Carry on cheering Brocks!

I've bought more, I still think they're going to jump, are there any more believers out there?

We need smartly dressed ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!

skreen - 10 Jan 2005 11:53 - 39 of 67

This Company is trading at less than five times future earnings, has outperformed other clothing retailers over the last two months, its sales to capitalisation ration is the best in the sector and there is always a possibility of a takeover bid in the background.

JRM - 10 Jan 2005 15:09 - 40 of 67

Thanks, I agree and have believed for a long time I'd be truly excited by a move over 20p. But, the company is small and doesn't bother with things like trading update. Fingers crossed!

JRM - 15 Nov 2005 10:07 - 41 of 67

All buys today.

I'm back in!

Any thoughts?

Should be cash rich and paying a divi by next June!

JRM - 15 Nov 2005 11:55 - 42 of 67

The volume has hit 500 000 wow!

I'll take 'em over if I'd the cash -any offers?????????

JRM - 15 Nov 2005 12:08 - 43 of 67

= + 700 000!

JRM - 22 Nov 2005 13:11 - 44 of 67

Has the overhang now been sold off? The last buy was above the quoted buy price.

mackem - 22 Nov 2005 15:53 - 45 of 67

Just simply too cheap.

They are probably cash positive now such is their strong cash flow.

So within a year they will have large amounts of cash in bank, be making
substantial profits and be on forward PER of roughly 2-4, once the exceptionals
have finished in their long restructuring, i think the last lot were out in recent
results so look forward to dividends in the future.

Worth at least 15p and that's only on a PER of 5

mackem - 22 Nov 2005 16:33 - 46 of 67

Somebody must believe me, strong finish and a 400k delayed
buy to boot.

Worth researching and see how quickly they have reduced debt
to zero from a very large amount despite difficult trading, it always
pays companies thesedays in the retail sector to be cautious with
their trading statements.

mackem - 23 Nov 2005 10:42 - 47 of 67

1 million in block trades at mid price, 550k cross trade, there's
a big overhang clearing and somebody is getting a lot of stock
for a bargain price, off the small punters radar but should'nt be
because this has to given a more realistic rating at some point.

JRM - 29 Nov 2005 11:47 - 48 of 67

I still think its brand names are under utilised. The Asians and American would love them.

Good buying today.

It'll be good bye soon

JRM - 29 Nov 2005 13:05 - 49 of 67

The buy to sell ratio is over 5:1> Has the overhang now been cleared?
