scotinvestor - 10 Jun 2004 13:03 - 30 of 189

Gallick, your statement comes from a recent article. However it states that about 1/3 of scotland will be supporting england. However, up here the recent figures say that 18% of Scotland is populated by English. So maybe they asked all the english guys in the survey, lol.

Sassenach.........well i'm actually one. A sassenach is someone from the lower parts of Scotland (under the highland line roughly)

ant thoughts on a top scorer overall,,a bit of money now coming in for owen.usually does well on the big stage,8/1

bosley - 11 Jun 2004 08:56 - 34 of 189

top scorer is tough . i mean , theres owen , but also the great man , vierri , or raul , morientes , van niestelroy, kluivert , henri, and many others. i would say raul because hes due a few goals.

daves dazzlers - 11 Jun 2004 09:17 - 35 of 189

bosley,,any thoughts on milan baros/backed him 6 weeks ago 25/1.

bosley - 11 Jun 2004 09:26 - 36 of 189

could be a good choice . all depends on how far they go in the tournament.

david james is a liability, why didnt he just let the ball run out,and what the hell was gerrard thinking.

daves dazzlers - 13 Jun 2004 22:38 - 43 of 189

i`am not english so it don`t effect me,but if you play owen even when he`s crap, when sven should of took alan smith instead or the lad from southampton ,,what do you expect.owens first touch is weak to say the least,he dont make it stick.if sven would drop owen ,,england mite have a chance.

Dil - 13 Jun 2004 22:39 - 44 of 189

Sod that. If that useless tw*t who gets paid millions had managed to score from a penalty then it was goodnight Pierre !

Blame Beckham , missed against Turkey too but his team mates saved him that night !

stockpick - 13 Jun 2004 23:03 - 45 of 189

Henri always plays behind so why the hell did Gerrard pass it back to him. World class player, world class blunder. Heskey, well what can you say, we live to fight another day but cant affoed any mistakes. Time for a few beers to drown sorrows. Bartez was going before he took it, he knows Becks game well enough.

brianboru - 14 Jun 2004 00:16 - 46 of 189

Whew! nearly dropped a fiver there! Local English pub I was in went dead quiet when the Zidane pen went in - I decided against jumping up and down with delight! Still, well chuffed - France 2 England 1. Nice one! Bonny Prince Charlie would be well pleased!

pd4wcuf - 14 Jun 2004 07:46 - 47 of 189

there's a few sad faces in the office today, not me though-get it up the smarmy gits

bingobingham - 14 Jun 2004 07:55 - 48 of 189

Beckham's strike was a good one. The keepers save was amazing. That's life. The only thing I have to say, is what the f**k wa Gerrard thinking! David James didn't really have much option. If he'd have let it run, Henry would have scored. I am gutted too!

Insider trader - 14 Jun 2004 08:00 - 49 of 189

England haven't a hope. Reason? Easy, Englands players are over-paid, the captain is a poof who concentrates too much on the colour of his nail varnish and his latest tattoo than his football.
There just isn't the 'hunger' in Englands game as there was in years gone by.
So I think they should only paid then what they are worth, and introduce performance related pay, so if they win a game they get a nice bonus (all of the team) but keep the wages small IMHO.
