PROBLEM MoneyAM Security Certificate EXPIRED

apple - 10 Mar 2005 10:15

The Security Certificate for MoneyAM EXPIRED on 9th March.

This means that the login page can't get through Norton Firewall.

The only way I can log in is to use a PC without a firewall.

Please fix this.

mickeyskint,

The guys are looking into this and we will update as soon as possible,

Madison,
Thanks for the sympathy.

Ian & JT,

Cypher strength is ok.

The firewall was not the problem, it turns out that it was just giving me info about the problem ie. it told me that that something had changed with regard to the Security Certificate.

After I had reinstalled Win2K Pro & everything else, it still wouldn't display the login page.

However, I have now solved the problem by repeatedly reinstalling the numerous IE6 patches in random order until it worked.

You switched secure certs on Wednesday, why did this cause such a problem?????????????????

It was working fine before!

apple,

The guys are working to find out what caused this. I will update as soon as they have reported back to me.

If it helps, I developed this same problem (as explained by MS above) when it came to logging in this morning. - It was fine yesterday. I too just clicked yes and of course it connected.

There have been no changes to my system apart from a trojan check by Microsoft Update and Microsoft AntiSpyware updated its definitions a couple of days back.

apple,

We had to change secure certificates so that some new bits that we have been working on would work correctly.

all,

We have identified the cause of the insecure redirect issue and are currently working to have a fix in place. This should happen today.

JT,

But why did it cause such problems?

If I knew why then I maybe could avoid it happening again.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 11 Mar 2005 10:29 - 38 of 43

apple,

Running an upto date browser / norton firewall setup would have helped in the first instance.

Ensuring your browser is completely up to date with *all* patches would would in your second problem instance.

But the redirect problem is definately ours :)

JT,

As I said before, I already had all the patches & Updates & everything was ok before your Cert change.

Reinstalling EVERYTHING including the Patches didn't work BUT fiddling around with the installation order fixed it.

I'm now running the same software as before your cert change & it now works.

I just want to know how to avoid it next time you change your cert.

TullettJ (MoneyAM) - 13 Mar 2005 08:04 - 40 of 43

apple,

Changing the order that the patches are installed shouldn't affect the overall operations, so I am at a loss about that one.

We shouldn't be changing our cert for a while (1 year) so don't worry about that for now. We'll be using the same company then too so the same problems shouldn't arise.

Oh well, thanks anyway.

I see that the login page has changed, fingers crossed, no problem so far.

New page looks good guy's. Love the Company Zone just a pity we don't know who the main share holders are.

ms,

If you want to get the main share holders for a specific listed company it is available by clicking on major shares holders from the list on the left hand side, (however, this is only available to Level 2 customers)
