Bones, because of the 3 amps none of the Maplin ones would be suitable, but this one would be, a little expensive unfortunately:

Your diagram is to show that the outside of the connector (stylised C) carries the - pole and the inside (O) carries the + pole. When you get your adaptor ensure that you have set the polarity correctly otherwise bye-bye monitor!

Actually Bones your adaptor is 3A but check the label on the display to see how much it needs. If it is a lot less than 3A then you could go for a cheaper adaptor.

if the values are in A1, B1, C1 & D1 then the formula for D1 is:
=IF(C1<B1,A1-B1,A1-C1)

Do have a look at
http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/forumdisplay.php?f=90
Lots of stuff on there about DVD recording, copying, editing, etc, and also lots of the right sort of experienced techies to question. You might pick up a few snippits.
I found some good stuff about connecting up Scart leads to TV, Digibox and other equipment. (We all know how many cables there are at the backs of our TVs, I'm sure) The DigitalSpy.co.uk site helped me no end.

A friend is having computing probs. and I wondered if
anyone could suggest an answer. She has had endless
problems with her current computer and has been advised
to start from scratch again. Her e-mail is via Outlook
Express (not something I am familiar with) and she has
important mail stored in files. Is there any way she can save
these files to disc or any other way. Apart from forwarding all
relevant documents to someone else or printing off, any other suggestions
would be most welcome!

Hope I'm not butting in but unfortunately she will have to pay $24.95 for that programme to restore them!
