THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

David Cameron's five secret meetings with Rupert Murdoch
Rupert Murdoch on Wednesday night disclosed that he had met the Prime Minister on at least five more occasions than David Cameron has previously admitted.

Interesting to see what Murdoch revenge is going to be.

cynic - 26 Sep 2013 16:52 - 30070 of 81564

he probably headed straight for the paper bag :-)

Shortie - 26 Sep 2013 16:54 - 30071 of 81564

I'd say Dave has had his head in the sand. He has failed to bring about 'change' or take on maddening regulation, the endless network of agencies making a mare’s nest out of everything from exams to hospital standards — all rooted in the quangos.

He postponed picking a fight with the quangocracy and as such surrendered to the status quo.

But hey, Labour rooted them and they both serve the same circle so ultimatly its business as usual with nothing much lost...

Fred1new - 26 Sep 2013 17:05 - 30072 of 81564

He doesn't know what he missed!

But is interesting how memories come and go.

I don't think that's true.

Last time I voted tory, but got dave and his liberal chums.

Is Crispin Blunt MP being forced out to make way for Boris Johnson?

Crispin Blunt, the Conservative MP for Reigate, has said he will “fight on” following claims Boris Johnson is to replace him as an MP in the area.

Unemployed to do unpaid work or lose benefits

The unemployed will have to do unpaid full time work or lose their benefits, in a bid to reduce the amount spent on the jobless.

By Claire Carter
12:33AM BST 27 Sep 2013

Under proposals expected to be announced next week at the Conservative conference, people who have been out of work for a long time will be expected to earn their benefits by working for firms unpaid or in the community.

It has been suggested adopting a new US-style ‘work for the dole’ scheme will help to reduce Britain’s large benefits bill.

It is expected that those who fail to find jobs through the Government’s main back to work scheme - the Work Programme - will have to work for their payments, sources told the Daily Mail.

Iain Duncan Smith, the work and pensions secretary, told the newspaper: “It’s not acceptable for people to expect to live a life on benefits if they’re able to work.”

Sources in the Department for Work and Pensions described the reports as "pure speculation".

I think it is time to bring the workhouses back and consider NHS geriatric wards should become expeditions portals.

Should sort out many problems.

All this talk of insufficient jobs is a load of balderdash.

And of course unpaid work would increase profit margins and sort out the real economy out.

Mind a little bit of overproduction will never be a problem.

I suggest that the con party can start issue brown shirts to all who attend.

BNP and UKIP can have another colour.

Happy days are around the corner.

Mind housing prices are up and another coat of paint should double their price.

Pity they are built on sand.

Again we can always fall back on the sale of the Mail.

George, what can we sell after that before the balloon burst again.

Mind we can blame that b. foreigners this time this time.

Where is Carney bye the way?

Thing is if my competitior is using subsidised labour why on earth should I carry on and compete.

The whole idea is a gimmick and set up for the Tory party congress.

They get nasty and more nasty.

Fact is ID smith would be nowhere without his wife Betsy subsidising him.
