Football, What chances !, World Cup, Euro, Clubs, for all : home and away ! (FC)

required field - 14 Jul 2010 13:55

It is now time to switch to a new Money AM football blog as the world cup is now over and we all look to the future.....World cup 2010 is over, Bravo Espana, and Forlan, once again and bring on the new season !.....I never expected the last thread to be such a success...thanks all.... so this new one might go on for years without the need to edit the title...we shall see...

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Im sorry I disagree RF, the cental defence as a big ? mark against it,
and the so called Rooney/Sturidge duo I just dont think its going to work furthermore and this is very worrying, Hodgson as only picked 4 strikers in his squad and looks like playing Wellbeck out of postion on the left of midfield, so thats three of the four strikers playing every game!!!! what about rotation especially in that heat.

Rooney looks over the top and Im wondering if he should have been taken like I first raised issues with here earlier on but in the end Chris and a few more of you persuaded me he should. He certainly looks overweight to me hence is new knick name PUKKA Rooney.

Is Johnson the only right back we have??.

The midfield looks to play at a slow momentum and Id like Wilshire playing alongside Gerrard from the off, I dont rate henderson.

And If I were the manager Id certainly start Barklay from the very start in fact Id have built a team around him a year ago , you can bet the Germans or the French would have done, what is it with English sport in general why we fear to use youth potential , its crazy.

Can you remember many balls being delivered from wide postions when the Peru full backs had been beaten last night........I cant. It was all short predictable passes down the centre and ended up losing possesion, its as if we are trying to play a continental/Spanish style of play but treat the ball like an hand grenade.

Set piece goals aswel we wont get many chances against the better teams and England score most of their goals that way rather than in open play.

Stronger than last time I cant see it, that team 4 years ago before we entered the tournament were touted as a Golden Generation. Lampard and Gerrard at their peaks sadly thats gone now.

And Rooney fat, sweaty, blowing hard, hair falling out looks like a sunday league player who goes for a fag and a pint at half time.

Dont get me wrong i will be giving England all the support I can Ill be right behind them but I cant see them doing much and Id love to be proved wrong.

The so-called golden generation were just not up to it....yes a few european cups were won but they rarely shined with the national squad...this was just a friendly and they were not looking to go go at 100%.....it doesn't matter if you lose possession in the opponents half....everybody does.....a bit of patience here Goldfinger...there is a big chance that this side might get the better of the Italians and I might put a small bet on it !...(not that my bets are that good I must say)

Chris Carson - 31 May 2014 17:22 - 3011 of 6918

rf - gf is kin clueless if you haven't already worked it out, hearing voices now ffs! Hello it was a friendly you muppet. And as for building a team around Barkley? You cannot put that kind of pressure on his young shoulders.

goldfinger - 31 May 2014 23:17 - 3012 of 6918

Chris the guys 20 year old. That isnt that young. England built a team around Bobby Charlton at 19n teen years old true he did have the late Duncan Edwards alongside him aswel.

Anyway we have a chance in that Italy are well known for being slow starters and hate to lose their opening game.

We need to take advantage of that, but using 3 of our 4 strikers from the off is a MASSIVE MISTAKE.

Llana the southampton capain should be moved into the left hand spot and Wilshire brought in.

I also think the other young gooners midfielder(oxley camberlain) can never remember his double barreled name will come into the side and make a big name for himself.

And Chris less of the threats and nasty talk please, I thought we had sorted that out and for your information at 6'10" and 18stone 10lbs Id hardly call that overweight even at 40 year old.

AND for your information I played semi pro rugby union for Leeds Carnegie and Huddersfield Town juniors plus Ive travelled the World watching footbal matches so please less of what do I know about football.

Chris Carson - 01 Jun 2014 03:23 - 3013 of 6918

gf - sorry you talk the biggest load of shite known to man. I have no desire to fall out with you, but historically clueless does not cover it. Bobby Charlton played on the left wing on his debut for England. I remember watching him in 1959 on black and white tv aged 6.

goldfinger - 01 Jun 2014 13:52 - 3014 of 6918

Chris, ok I conceed you know historically more about football than me but lets face it when your 15 to 20 years older youd be a certainty to be more or less correct.

Listen stop the snidey swipes on the talk thread and Ill lay off you. If you disagree with what I say just say so but not the nasty stuff you serve up with me and Fred. I hardly know him!!!!

Im not the kind of man to hold a grudge. Lets call it quits and get behind England and PUKKA Rooney and support them.

ps, just bought a England Huddy T shirt this morning from ASDA....................ACE

Double ps, lve got all my ale ready for the finals and bought a cat flap.

Chris Carson - 01 Jun 2014 14:15 - 3015 of 6918

goldfinger - 03 Jun 2014 15:45 - 3022 of 6918

Will be interesting to see if Wayne PUKKA Rooney is any fitter tomorrow night.

For sure Hodge as to play him the whole game to get a few pounds of his ever increasing gut and fat ass.

Dil - 04 Jun 2014 09:37 - 3023 of 6918

Lol Stan , we were in the same position this time last year and look where we ended up !

Dil - 04 Jun 2014 09:39 - 3024 of 6918

And dont even start me on the bloody Welsh Assembly it's almost enough to make me want to move to England.

goldfinger - 04 Jun 2014 09:56 - 3025 of 6918

Alan Brazil (Talk Sport) says he as doubts over Wayne PUKKA Rooney starting against Italy.

Newspapers are saying same aswel.

Just goes to show Im not the only one who has doubts.

Ill be happy to be proved wrong though, no probs.

required field - 04 Jun 2014 10:51 - 3026 of 6918

Good odds for an England win tonight......worth a punt in my view....

Stan - 04 Jun 2014 11:32 - 3027 of 6918
