"If it can, then cost and availability elsewhere is almost irrelevant"

Not with gambling, the essense of gambling is value, it's price not convieniance that is the lead. You may attract casual punters but they are a tiny tiny part of the market.

Scripophilist - 26 Nov 2005 16:22 - 3032 of 3776

"Sorry bears, yoo will have to do better than that!"

Errr, they have no cash left. I'd say thats quite a negative.

iPublic - 26 Nov 2005 20:16 - 3033 of 3776

errr..........read the RNS........still quite happy.

Dil - 26 Nov 2005 21:47 - 3034 of 3776

which one ?

the one about them being skint ?

Scripophilist - 26 Nov 2005 21:56 - 3035 of 3776

"errr..........read the RNS........still quite happy. "

LOL, Have you been an investor for long?

iPublic - 26 Nov 2005 22:00 - 3036 of 3776

No, the one about the significant hidden value in Dateline. The one about several interested parties. The one about a partial sale of equity in Dateline, which will clean up the balance sheet and provide marketing opportunities for the group as a whole.

Did you really invest in LGB?

You silly sausauge!

Based in Bermuda, banking in Brazil, contracts in Argentina, auditors in Spain, cash in Holland, not subject to U.K. law. What did you expect to happen?

Why should we take anything you say seriously, ever again?

WHAT A DIL!!!

Scripophilist

The last sentence in the second last paragraph and the last paragraph are linked. I've read it 1000 times and still can't see the problem, providing one believes the RNS's content, which is something we all must decide for ourselves.

Dil - 26 Nov 2005 22:08 - 3037 of 3776

No I didn't but with your track record I guess you probably did.

Scripophilist - 27 Nov 2005 07:58 - 3038 of 3776

"providing one believes the RNS's content, which is something we all must decide for ourselves."

YOO has lost over 45m in investors money and constantly said it will be cash flow positive tomorrow and failed to deliver everytime. They are running out of cash.

Read what you want into an RNS but having worked for a listed company I can confirm that most companies, especially poorly regulated AIM companies, only release what they beileve that can get away with and will put a positive spin on that. The amount of times I have complained to the FSA for RNS's that are practically lies in unreal. Only my professional prudence stops me from talking about the serial abusers. Therefore I view the RNS very poorly. I think your view on it has more to do with the fact that you own shares in them and nothing else.

Try taking an objective view.

Scripophilist - 27 Nov 2005 08:03 - 3039 of 3776

I have to ask a question to YOO shareholders.

You inherit 40m out of the blue, what do you do with the money?

Retire and live of the proceeds, or buy out YOO. If you don't do the second then you should not be investing in the company. 1, 1m or 10m really isn't that much different if you are true investor.

hewittalan6 - 27 Nov 2005 09:21 - 3040 of 3776

Not really a fair question, Scrip. This takes absolutely no account of the balance theory or attitude to risk.
I am a small(ish) investor, playing the markets much as I would any other gamble, with money I can afford to lose and a good spread of sectors and small/medium/large cap companies as well as bonds, derivatives, properties and a cash balance.
Would i sink 40m into YOO? No. Would I invest it? Yes. Would that include Yoo? Yes, if it fitted the portfolio and risk/reward ratio I was after. Does that make me not a true investor? NO.
I treat YOO as one of those oddities that will either go bump and I will lose the lot or a shooter that will hit the big time. I get lots of little ones where I lose cash but a few multi-baggers mean I am in profit overall. It's how I play the markets, and everyone plays them his own way. I feel somewhat hurt by your opinion that this means I am not a true investor, but each to his own opinion. Yoo may be a dog and you may be right, but that is the nature of a market.
Alan

Scripophilist

I stand by my comments concerning the RNS. If I'm wrong, I'll be the first to congratulate you. Spend 45m to make yearly profits in the future of , nothing wrong with that, IF it happens.

YOO have told investors how further funding will be achieved. By selling a partial stake of Dateline, clearing the balance sheet and providing increased marketing opportunity's for the group. YOO also say the significant value of Dateline is masked within the group, a statement written when the market cap was 45m+. If this is a lie, I'll be the first to congratulate you, however, I choose to believe the company statement.

Sinclair is personally guaranteeing a 6m overdraft. I can assure you, if the prospects were that dire, a hugely discounted placement would already have been rushed out, to remove the personal burden on him. 99% of AIM companies would have done this already. He must be confident and how many AIM chairman do you khow, who act in this way?? This is bullish.

Regarding your second post. It's a silly question. Not even going to dignify it with a reply.
