How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

I re-checked the stats this morning just before Liverpool's first goal went in the chance of Milan winning was 99.63%

So backing them at 1.01 was good value , lol.

If you did it 1000 times with the same amount of money!

Morning All,

Hope everybody has recovered from last night.

Just noticed this morning that Henin's odds started at 1.03/1.04 and despite being 5-0 up in 1st set it drifted out to 1.12/1.13. Reason being that trainer had to be called on. Possibility of going lame???

Scripophilist - 26 May 2005 11:05 - 3043 of 10502

I laid at 1.04 and have covered will 're-invest' the remainder.

bakko - 26 May 2005 14:03 - 3045 of 10502

On the tennis front look out for Acasuso v Roddick game later.

Acasuso from Argentina is quite an useful player on clay having reached the semis in a clay tournament in Austria only 2 weeks ago. He also beat Safin in April as well.Odds are currently 2.66/2.68.

Roddick's odds are way off at 1.6/1.61 and he's supposed to be seeded 2.

This could be a tight game.

I'll be laying a small amount on Roddick and will be trading out on whoever wins as the game progresses

Check out Acasuso's profile and current form at:

Think there is a reasonable opportunity on Sanchez v Johansson (19). Johansson lost the 1st set but looks like he's gonna break back in the 2nd.

He's currently 2.04 and falling if anyone fancies some. He has been out to 3.25ish

Fundamentalist - 26 May 2005 15:20 - 3047 of 10502

cracking afternoon on the horses so far this afternoon - not had time to look at the tennis

Harlosh - 26 May 2005 15:57 - 3048 of 10502

Johansson won the next two sets. Now in to 1.57/1.58.

bakko - 26 May 2005 16:05 - 3049 of 10502

John, Thanks for the Johannsson tip. I got in at 2.06.

Doesn't look like my tip of the day is doing very well. Roddick has picked up the 1st set. Will trade out later if Roddick continues to dominate.

Unlike yesterday, its been quite stress free today having already won 4/4 so far.

Harlosh - 26 May 2005 16:15 - 3050 of 10502

Glad to help Bak.

Dropped a clanger when laying off Johansson. Laid him for twice that which I should.

Bloody hell. Cost me a few quid. This one click betting is dangerous at times.

Two links for you:-

http://www.betangel.com

This link now contains some free one click trading software we have designed. The pro version is scheduled for release first week of June. The free software will allow you to do one click trading on Betfair.

http://www.oddsextractor.com

Is a data mining tool for Betfair. It allows you to suck in data from any Betfair market to a file which you can analyse later using spreadsheet software. Any prior course attendee can buy and full price and I will refund 20% for you.

Any questions please ask. I'm going for a soft launch on here first so any comments welcome.

The Bet Angel site's links on BetAngel.com don't seem to do the right things and go to the right places and the download of Bet Angel- Basic doesn't seem to work either.

Scripophilist - 26 May 2005 17:37 - 3057 of 10502

I've corrected the link on the download. No idea why that failed but I uploaded again to make sure.

Can't find any broken or mis-directed links.

kernow - 26 May 2005 17:39 - 3058 of 10502
